Hey Scott, it sounds like your shift linkage popped off. But then again, there are a few other things it could be. If you don't have the space or tools to look at it let me know and you can swing by the house. I have the shifter centering tool if you need to borrow it.

Sweet, thanks Dell. I really appreciate the offer.
I'm thinking the same about hoping a linkage popped off, but I can hear the gears hitting home at the transmission if I shift with the car off. Plus its strange that I can regain use of 1st probably 70% of the time if I shift carefully. Fingers crossed.

Have you checked the Fetzer valve? It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And Dell's gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

Linkage is back in its retainer and I'm back on the road. Luckily it was a quick fix needing no replacement parts. Thank you for the offer to help out Dell. I really appreciate it.

Think of me I'll be swimming in Lake Pinehurst at 8 AM (I'll be wearing a wetsuit!)

I have a question for the locals.
We have encountered an unfortunate unemployment situation, and it would be beneficial to sell our 996tt - quickly. Any thoughts on doing so while being considerate of the value of other's cars?
I don't wan't to price it too low and drag others down.
Thanks for your consideration.
Dell, I see you're selling yours as well, and yours speaks for itself - fantastic what you have done with it!
