the 996 and 993 both are posers. The 964 was the last real 911. Just look at the raised fenders and the all important atleast to 993 owners round headlights and closer to the 959.

Or did you removed your heavy sofas to compensate for the weight that you added with the rollbar and all the nice red straps, belts, buckles, wings and all the other stuff that you added?

as someone who admires 993's looks and the 996's modern safety features and performance capabilities, I will have to say this: the 993 Cabriolet is the weakest link in the 993 family. The covered soft top looks like an ant hill. The narrow body lacks the sinuous curves that make 993 so beautiful in the first place. Without the roof line, the thing really looks like a bathtub, and in this case it's not a compliment the way it was with the venerable 356.
As far as 993s go, unless you are a diehard convertible fan, the cabriolet is the least desirable, hands down. This is reflected in the usually lower sales price of the 993 cabriolets compared to all other 993s.
I am glad you enjoy your ride, and you should. But as far as collector's car....not quite.
The above is all my opinions of course. You can try to refute it, but I'm not going to change my mind, really, on preferences.

Very bad.

And God doth strike down the the 996 with RMS issues and mass production.
But Satin's creation would not go away so easily and thus the war between good and evil persists today.

"No, is because when I'm 90... I would like to have some wood interior in my car with lots of shinny buttons, some really soft suspension so I can cruise around, one finger light steering for easy parking, automatic climate control, wide seats for my big aging ***, dumb-proof traction control for my slow responses, Japanese engineering and construction, and "grown-up" styling to appeal to my lady friends at the senior citizen club, and the Lexus and 996 would both fit my needs then."
I want to start off my saying that a 993 coupe is one of the best looking Porsches ever, and a lot better looking than my 996, but you cannot argue with the performace of the 996. My car doesn't have wood on the interior, or traction control, or wide comfortable seats. My car is lighter than a 993, and it's faster, and stiffer. I have see plenty of 993s with wood interiors, supple leather seats, and cabrios are chick cars anyways.
