My understanding is that they are carved from solid ingots of stainless steel by Prussian virgins using design specifications translated from documents found in the Arc of the Covenant. They also have shorter oil change intervals.

I just thank God that I bought one new. Otherwise, after reading about how wonderful the 993 is, I would have been tempted to pay the outrageous prices that many sellers of 993s are asking.

I would think the 993 guys would be glad that Porsche came out with the inferior 996. Withouth the 996, how would the 993 guys know that their car is superior??? If the 996 was as good as the 993, the 993 would just be a regular, garden variety, average 911.

Every generation of 911 is better then the previous. Each time they come out with a new model, it is better, simply amzing. I can't wait for the 998!

I think the 998 and every model after it, like the 996's and 997's, will be testaments to the greatness of the 993's. In fact, isn't true that all 996 and 997 cars had to bow before the 993 statue before leaving the factory?

The 993 reminds me of the E46 3 series. Not in the way you're thinking, but in the way that many feel like those respective models were the pinnacle of the series design to which all others will fail to reach. I love all Porsches, and I fall into the category of thinking each new model is better than the last. I would always take the latest model for my personal use.
