Why is the 993 sooo far superior to all other Porsches???

Jeez... I feel like I'm back with the kids on the 350Z forum... the G35 is better... no the 350Z is better... blah blah blah.
I love the 993 and 996. Which is better, that depends on what's important to YOU, not the other guy. I did a lot of research before deciding on a MY02 and if anyone doesn't like it, they'll have to find some way to get over it.
Cheers,
Joe

Yea, to bad the GT1 and Carrera GT don't have round headlights.

I quess since a 996 can clean up a 993 on the track, it must be a real bummer driving a 993 knowing that MB's or Lexuses could do the same.
Since (according to you) they are alike.....
Got any more stupid observations you want to share??

Are there any other Porsche's you want to denigrate while your here???

I use to own a Vette and I have never seen feuds between owners of C5s and C6s, certainly nothing like the 993/996 feud.
I just don't get the complex that some 993 owners seem to have about their cars. It's really quite silly .
An even more staggering apparent fact is that a number of these owners will walk right into a "room" of other Porsche owners (that's essentially what each of the model forums on Rennlist are) and broadly proclaim your car stinks, mine is better.

C5/C6's are plastic (tupperware), hence my sig. Enough, back to the "real" cars

They are not superior, simply because they are nothing but glorified leaf blowers on wheels! hee hee

Our fans are bigger than your fans. :-)
I've been driving 911s for 17 years now, and every time a new model comes out, the people with the older model say their's is better. T 73 911S is better than the 75 911 because of all thermal reactors and weak case studs ... the 1983 911SC feels quicker off the line than the 1984 3.2 Carrera ... the 87-89 3.2 Carrera is the better 3.2 Carrera because it has a hydraulic clutch and bigger AC vents ... the 3.2 Carrera is the "last of the real 911s" ... the 964 is the best 911 because it retained more of the classic 911 shape than the 993 ... and, of course, the 993 beats the 996 because it's air-cooled, has curves and is "the last (again) of the real" 911's. I have yet to hear anyone say the 996 is superior to the 997, though.
This goes right back to when the 911 replaced the 356. But none of that really seems to get under anyone's skin with the exception of the 996 comparisons. Why do you suppose that's true?

Anyway, if you've followed/owned/worked on these things over multiple decades, you can see the cheap-*** design and build factor start appearing on the 993's (v. the 964's) and takes over once the Boxster shows up.

But if you want to talk performance between a 996, 996TT, and cars like the 993 cabriolet.... forget it. I am NOT taking a 993 cabriolet over a 996 anything.
