Hello folks.
I have an autolock in my car, I bet everyone in the US has it, when you start to drive the car locks all doors.
My question is how do I turn this thing off, its pretty annoying thing for me.

My 99 doesn’t do this. Do all 996s have this feature?

My 2000 996 has it , and you have to pull the inside door handle twice to exit the vehicle. On the second pull of the interior handle the car door fails to open, there is a mechanism inside door that is failing. If I unlock the doors with the lock button on the dash I can open and exit the car with one pull. Removing this feature via software is much easier than opening up door and replacing the lock mechanism inside door. I contacted Durametric and my pro version does not allow this so the only option is the dealer or indie that has PIWI or porsche access.

There are several modes in the alarm control module for auto-lock function...they can be changed-recoded using PIWIS...I don't know if Durameric PRo has these capabilities, I don't have a Durometric Pro...

The auto-lock feature, while arguably more secure if one were to get car jacked, probably does wear out locking components more than not.

Durametric does not have the capability to recode the door lock options. Also, the difference between a standard Durametric and the Durametric Pro is the number of vehicles it will work with. Std Durametric is limited to three different VIN numbers and a Durametric Pro will work with an unlimited number of VINs.
