Just an update, the PPI all checks out, however at the end under the comment's it said that there was minor seapage (sp) near the RSM, however everything passed.

Yellow is going to look better in the long run. Red is tough to maintain. Yes, I am a bit partial!! 18k miles would be another eally good reason too.

<---Votes for the yellow. I think for half the miles, AND the Aero-kit, its a no-brainer. Wouldn't be to worried about it being a year older.

Drive it back! This summer I did a 3000 miles road trip with one leg of my trip 18 hours strait and only stopping for gas. Best road trip I have ever done!

I'd love to drive her back but won't have the time. Can't wait to see her in the garage which I've been painting.

Did you get an adjustment for the obvious RMS type issue? Minor leak around RMS is definitely a sign of a needed RMS replacement or possible engine replacement if not within Porsche spec..........I ask because an RMS issue on a vehicle I looked at stopped me cold. Unless it has a warranty I would walk away from a vehicle with RMS issue unless that is reflected in the purchase price.....Unfortunately, all of these cars have the potential for RMS issues....some worse than others. However, if you know it likely has an issue, keep that in mind.....I think that is the 996 model's biggest weakness......go into it with eyes wide open.

I agree, I finally find the perfect car which I doubt I'll find again with the same color/aero kit. Guy's I looked over the PPi checklist last night and to my amazement found a few questionalble items which I didn't see the first time round,

Here is a .pdf of the PPI, questionable items are on the second page left hand side:

Thanks, I may need to walk away from this one but I really don't want to

"is there any unusual noise from the drive train?" He checked yes but didn't specify what the noise was.

Should I just call the technician up and talk to him directly?
