I've seen some folks post about using a shrink wrap as a temporary solution. What do you all think?

This is a good idea.

That looks like a good option.

Used some self amalgamating tape. Looks like it should work.

I see cracks all over. The belt is going to shred, let go and you will be stranded. It is easy to replace with new.

Getting ready to come out in pieces like this one I just changed out....
Seems the 20+ yo rubber & plastic pieces are starting to show their age. And the filler pipe and belt won't be only ones.

Thanks guys! You just saved my butt! Didn’t even look to check - stupid. Ran out and bought a replacement this afternoon and swapped it out. Cracks all over on the old one.

Yup. I just replaced my fill tube. While most remove the throttle body, I managed to change it just removing the alternator. I’ve had my alternator out a few years ago, so I came out easy this time. First time was a bit of a bear. Read up, it’s not hard but does take patience.

I did not find it too difficult. Just need to go step by step and be patient. It was tedious getting the bolts inserted to mount the new filler tube (including dropping them a hundred times and having to fish them out to try again).

Use a magnet to hold the bolt and put it in place. If the magnet is strong enough you can even start the bolt using it.

This is what I used with a long 1/4 drive extension and didn't move the Alternator.
