So when I was getting the alignment redone, after the whole broken control arm failure debacle was concluded, the tech showed me this:
Right rear Eibach Pro bar with about 5,000 miles of street driving.
I immediately contacted Eibach US and they said find a receipt. Unfortunately, we just moved days prior and I can’t lay hands on receipt. I do have the original box. I didn’t hear back from Eibach for two weeks after I sent these photos:
Original box with the part number on it. Trashed link. This bar has been broken for a little while. Corrosion forming on broken metal.
In fairness, the rep was out for a back issue, but he never saw my email and photos until today. I was pretty sure Eibach would be aghast that their “Pro” bar suffered structural failure on a street-driven car. Nope. I bought the springs and rear thinking Eibach has a stellar reputation for quality and customer support.
If I can’t find a purchase receipt, they won’t replace the bar under warranty. I understand the policy as it’s written. However, from a customer service standpoint, I expected Eibach to try a little harder in this instance. I have the original factory boxes for the springs and bar, along with the installation receipts. Not like I stole them and they aren’t knock-offs. The best they’ll do is give me $90 off a replacement. Uh, no thanks. Your first one broke and trashed my link ($75 to replace a pair) with it. So caveat emptor folks. Tarett will be getting my money for their GT bar.
Of note: I put my M030 sway bar back on the rear, and it’s just not stiff enough to compensate for the improved torque of my 3.8. And for the hyper attentive peeps who noted the whack position marks on the eccentric bolt: When I put the M030 sway bar on, I marked the new position at 12 for both bolts.

Also there is a good chance the side loading from the failed control arm caused the arm to break? Send the pics to the shop that f'ed the install and tell them to replace it.

I've been boycotting Eibach for 25 years over some defective springs they wouldn't stand behind. In my case, I had the original receipt, the box, the paperwork and the stupid little sticker they give you and they still told me to go **** up a rope. Just for the hell of it, I contacted the ombudsman for BMWCCA and he went to bat for me. They told him to go **** up a rope too.

I’m gonna say low odds on that. When the control arm let go I was doing 18 mph going over a speed bump. The bar appears to have corrosion that couldn’t occur in 4 days of garage time. There’s no evidence of impact and the install was done by-the-book using the Porsche tech manual. To my non-metallurgist eye I see crystalline structure like when a pot metal fractures. Not what I imagine a “high strength steel” would look like.

Sorry to hear about the headaches. Tarret has my vote. The Tarret Sway bars and Drop links have been worry free on my car for 15 years. Still in great shape and doing their job.
Who did you order the part from ? Maybe your purchase info is in their archives ?
Thank you for that. A bit fuzzy recalling exact date, but I’m pretty sure I ordered from Eibach. The springs were back-ordered in early or mid 2020 and I got the kit from Eibach because they had some springs on the shelf. Problem is they only have records back to Oct 2020.
