Default RennLine 996/997 Carbon Fiber Intake

This is interesting.. Now I wonder what the performance increases might be? I have reached out to Rennline and they will email me info on it soon they said. Unless @Rennline wants to respond here in this thread

It definitely looks the business. But it could be a filter kit lubed with snake oil. Interested to see how the snorkel area adapts to the engine cover, since it wasn’t shown on the web site. Flow data would be nice. I know their carbon work is top notch.

Does this come with a matching circular bellow to seal against the decklid? Other it might be sucking in hot air from inside the engine bay.

Dang, that looks tempting. I imagine it sounds good and doesnt ingest the hot air from the airbox like other airboxes

@Rennline do you have a Canadian distributor or do we have to buy from you in the USA and get done by Canada customs? I'm interested for sure.

Unless I missed something, Rennline hasn’t made any claims of increased performance.

Rennline has brought out some nice products for the 996 recently.

It states “better flow dynamics” so I guess they’d have a metric to prove that. Think their new stuff is pretty cool especially since no one really makes things for our cars. Either it’s OEM + Astronomical in price or absolute crap.

it's a nice piece of kit as i have this on my car.. and yes @TheChunkNorris is correct as well as some type of performance gains should be expected for the intake..

Here is a safe guess on the performance, "up to a 20hp difference over stock"

I'd want to see a comparison of the MAF area to stock. Messing wth that zone can wreak havoc. And while it is an improvement over the stock 996 airbox in terms of looks, I don't know that it's $1500 better looking. I think the 997 airboxes look pretty good in there, don't mess with the MAF placement and airflow, and don't cost as much.

EDIT: Also if that's an oiled air filter I'm out.
