FYI the 9A1 can’t be scoped from the sump, have to use the spark plug holes. I would definitely do the oil analysis regardless because it’s certain and we have seen a lot of dealer and indy mechanics miss bore scoring or diagnose bore scoring when it wasn’t there. Oil analysis is a route you almost can’t make a mistake with. Good luck!

Is this a typo or am I misunderstanding something? From the LN page about SpeedDiagnostics:
"Not only does SPEEDiagnostix use the RDE method that can see particles up to 10 microns compared to the ICP process used by popular labs that can only see up to 5 microns"
5 microns is smaller than 10, right? We're talking about micrometers? So this would imply that the ICP process has higher/better resolution?

Checking the Driven website today and see they have a Labor Day special for 25% off. I will probably buy a case and do an oil change as I just got back from doing my first DE event ever at Road America in Elkhart Lake WI. It was put on by the Milwaukee PCA chapter. I’m really glad I did it as I got to find out just how capable my car is in that environment. I would recommend to anyone who has not done it as it will give you an appreciation for what these cars can do. My 12 year old 80k Boxster S performed flawlessly as my excellent instructor taught me how to drive the line. It was a confidence builder to keep up with the newer cars in the turns and if nothing else it was still fun pointing to allow the 911T’s to blow by me on the long straights. Definitely used up some pad material and rubber, but once warm the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s made the car feel like it was on a rail. Great people, great fun. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Looks like the DI oil is now all 5w-40.. curious to see what the Fuchs Supersyn oil looks like after completing this event..

We got ahold of Driven and they extended an extra discount to us, so we were able to extend the 25% promo to select Driven Racing Oil products sold by LN. This includes DT40, DI40, DT50, DI50, XP9, and XP6.

I switched from DT-40 to DI-40 in the last oil change, and although I thought the engine was quiet before, it's even quieter with DI-40. DI-40 is not inexpensive, but seems to be worth the premium in my brief experience with it.

We usually include Driven in our promos for Black Friday/Cyber Monday which will be announced in an upcoming LN newsletter. I'd suggest subscribing if you don't already receive our Tech Tuesday blasts.
