Default How to Remove 19” Wheel Lugs?

Can someone advise me as to what tool I need to remove these wheel lugs? The hole is so small I can’t use a standard

Tiny holes and can’t fit a wrench in to remove them.
lug wrench. I’m trying to replace these 19” with some 17” all season tires. Thank you!

I would make sure those are not chrome caps on the lug bolts, take a needle pliers and grab and pull.

So you are saying a conventional socket won't fit ? It hits the wheel before engaging the lug bolt ? That is very strange . You may have to modify a conventional socket by grinding down the outside diameter to fit .

Take it to Discount Tire. I'll bet they have every type of lug nut socket, including thin wall sockets.

Try a 19mm, 3/8" drive socket and a 3/8" to 1/2" adaptor with a breaker bar. The 3/8" sockets r thinner.

Im guessing u r trying to use the factory socket and that wont work with those rims. Time to buy some tools.

These aftermarket wheels are probably like what came on my 996. They have a special slim lug adapter. Did you tried contacting the person you bought the car from?

And, if they're like mine, they did NOT have a standard lug hex pattern. You had to use the adapter.

Read this similar thread where I commented....

Using a flash light, could you please take a bright picture of the lug in the wheel to help identify if these are standard lugs?

Agree. Check this before buying a thin-walled socket.

I'm 99.9% certain those are lug nut covers, most likely these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/11234656017...hoCxvoQAvD_BwE

You need the wide tweezers with hooked arms at the top of the package below (slide the tweezers over the caps grab the edges and pull them out)

This is the diagram showing how they are removed (the caps have squared-off "mushroom" heads that the tangs grab onto)

I would also recommend to throw them away after you get them out.

It’s frightening to imagine the tool needed to remove 21” lugs.

Discount loves to sell spline drive lug nuts for the wheels they sell.
I made them use my stock ones on my jeep, TRY getting a spline drive nut off when they are packed with ice..

I have quit buying wheels from them because of it, even when I specifically tried to order some wheels with lug nuts, they
handed me a bag of the spline drive and said they didn't have the others.. after waiting 2 weeks to get them,
I sat and looked the guy in the eye while I called my credit card company and had them cancel the $$.

My money my choice,...
