Default 997 GT3 Center Exit Exhaust??

Has anyone completed this themselves, and what are their overall thoughts? From the videos I hear online, this seems to sound amazing. I can pick up a factory 997 GT3 muffler for cheap, and I am not a huge fan of my exhaust currently as-is. I have the stock system with Fister bypass mod. It isn't loud enough and it lacks that higher pitch wail I like.

Some have and I know for a fact @Subzero has. I reached out to him pre pandemic and he said was willing to help.

From the videos I have seen, this seems to sound the best. Plus I believe this eliminates the cats and current mufflers, and would save a ton of weight. I like everything about it other than trying to figure out the rear bumper.

Cup bumper would be your best bet.

@demonspeed sells a perfect fit cup replica bumper. It’s what I run. I have a full 997 gt3 quick silver exhaust on mine.

I don’t have any clips. I’m completely refreshing the car from the ground up. Right now I’m replacing the complete suspension and brake system. Next is the motor so I can supercharge it.

Man I’d love to see that. Do you have a build thread going?

I don’t. I’m the worst at that lol. With working all week and two sons under the age of 3, every minute counts that I get free 😆
What I have collected for install so far is:
full nephrite interior
pccm+ (I’m going to make it so I can use it with a gt3 console delete)
ohlin coilovers and all new control arms
996 gt3 350mm brakes
gt3 MC
gmg sway bars
full sound system
997 ssk and cup cables
sachs sport clutch and aasco lwfw
rss harmonic dampener
VF Eng V2 supercharger kit
refreshed motor
Pretty much I want it to perform like a gt3, if not better.

I thought of this thread and found this guy.

It looks and sounds pretty good but @996clubsport has better placement and being I've never seen a cup rear bumper in person... I have no idea what the dimension difference is.

Center exhaust would create space for an oil cooler.

Didn't even think of that. I'm going to take a look at the X pipe set up that Justin has and see if you can extend the exhaust tips sections to the center. Fabspeed sells a similar kit for their 997.1.

You can run the oil cooler in the space of the mufflers. So headers and gt3 center muffler would work as well as headers, cats and straight pipe. Key is muffler space opens up room for LNs cayman oil cooler

I have been looking into this more and more recently. Looks like this would be a basic plan of attack. What are your guys thoughts on this mod? My only questions will be how to mount this setup up and such.

Nice replica GT3 Cup rear bumper
997.1 GT3 headers
997-991 GT3 center exit muffler (would love to do the Fabspeed version with the built in x-pipe)
muffler bypass

In addition to this:
IPE Plenum
GT3 TB
Some kind of a quality tune for the mods and to resolve the deletion of the cats.

Based on my research these are the only mods that will make any difference at all without doing a fully motor upgrade with more displacement. Beyond this would be all suspension, weight reduction, and a good LSD.
