It was bought to be driven year round and hasn’t disappointed me over the first 2 winters. Winter tires and winter rear rims were worth every penny.

I live in Salt Lake City and will definitely not put my car away for the winter. A little salt never killed anyone

The brine they put on the roads in MN absolutely will kill all manner of older cars. Every time I get under my year-round 25 year old Land Cruiser to turn a wrench, I get more and more angry at the unstoppable force of rust.

Great point. Do they put Brine on the roads in Germany I wonder.

Yes , but for the most part Calcium chloride (CaCl2) und Magnesium chloride (MgCl2) and Potassium chloride (KCl) are used instead of sodium chloride as those are effective to a lower temperature.

Sodium chloride is worse than the others when it comes to rusting but still you can tell when a car has been driven in winter time too.
