Lightbulb A Pillar Trim continually falls off

Howdy there everyone,

This is not exactly the first post I wanted to make; but after being away from the car this is something that irks me every time I get back in it.
As the title states, after doing some spirit driving my A Pillar trim piece decides to peace out from the dash area to land in my passengers seat.

I have now turned to the hive mind to help me. Any suggestions for adhesives that won't be nasty in 22.5 years when it falls off again? But seriously, what is the best way to keep this thing on during pulls?

MY99 A Pillar Trim joined me for a cruise in the passenger seat, time to go home.
Thank you for any information and hope everyone is doing well!

Please post a picture of the backside. Chances are it's like most plastic trim parts on these cars and the securement tab is broken off... A new one shouldn't be too expensive. Gluing it back in place will work until your mirror motor decides not to work and you need to get back inside.

Goop. Will hold and easy to remove in the future if needed.

Hot glue gun. Good enough for summer time, but still removable.

You see those two little blue "receivers" in the door frame ? There should be two nubs on the grey triangular trim piece that plug into those. - as mentioned above, they're probably broken off. There are several options to stick the piece back on. Any type of glue (goop or otherwise) would NOT be acceptable to me... What ever you use, you should be able to remove and put back, quickly and easily and the piece shouldn't fall off by itself. The first thing that comes to mind for me is the industrial style velcro (like the stuff you get with an EASY PASS)... I'm sure there are others, just give it a little thought and you'll find something appropriate. Good luck

The blue receivers fit two tabs on the bottom of the piece. The key is the tab on the top that fits into the uppermost receiver. To remove this part you start at the bottom, pull out then lift up so the tab at the top comes out of the slot. If the upper tab is broken off the piece will just jar loose. New piece is a solution, or some type of adhesive may work to hold it in place.

I had the same problem with that piece on the driver's side. One of the tabs has broken off. I just added a few dabs of silicone and it has held up so far. The good part is that if it needs to come off it won't be difficult to remove.

@jbrob007 @dporto @wyovino I took a terrible photograph and now have left the car. But I can confirm that all three tabs were still in the back. Maybe there was something on the tabs that was broken and I am not familiar with.

It looks like those are all broken off to me. The top one should have a hook that fits under the rubber piece and the bottom ones have long pins that fit into those two blue plastic receivers.

Call Roger Tyson at 928sRus. Give him the part # and he’ll source a new part. It’ll be a recurring problem if you don’t replace it and it can’t be THAT expensive.

I had only the top tab broken off but I would still try some silicone sealant. Put some on each place where the tabs were, fit the piece back in, and then tape it in place over night. It's worth a try.
