Saw at one point some discussion about an install video. Did that ever come out?

Yes of course it is the newest design, I haven't been able to think of a single thing to improve on in over a year but the Patent is still Pending. The USPTO did say they would give me/UIDS special privileges/rushed service due to being a Senior Citizen and over 65 years old....lol...I guess they have had a few "die waiting" LMAOO

The install is very very easy , and why I haven't taken the time to make a video...Just drain the oil ,undo the 13 sump bolts, 4 swirl pot bolts, 2 pick-up tube bolts, ( old stuff is now out of the way ) Then install the up-pipe (2 bolts) the 997 return tubes (2 bolts) the baffles (2 bolts) , adjust baffle depth using the Precision Depth Gauge and tighten, install the 2 blue guide pins, install the O-ring on the UIDS using Vaseline to keep it in the groove, push it up into place and install the new 13 bolts, drain plug, and plug for the Oil Temp Gauge port or install an Oil Temp Sensor .. refill with Oil.. Done in about the time it takes to read this....lol

It is WAY faster than a UAOS install.. Do you already have that ???

Skip - so you are now using the 997 oil returns vs the aluminum plate diverter for oil return? We discussed that when I bought mine, and at that time, you thought the plate was better that the 997 oil returns.

Hi Tom, yes the Aluminum deaerator plate was an improvement over the 997 return tubes on that baffle design, then I envisioned a "hooded deaerator plate" that rivets to each baffle over each of the Twin Tunnel Ports and in doing so needed to go back to the 997 return tubes to compliment it ..

A small improvement in the performance but I can't stand having a new idea without implementing and testing it , and it is totally easily retrofitable as with all the UIDS improvements from day 1..

Its like going from a 2024 Porsche to a 2025 Porsche , there could be some little changes

Yes I had a UAOS installed by a shop as part of an engine out job with all the standard “while you’re in there” bits.

My main concern is getting the right type and amount of sealant on the pan. Read a lot on here of even shops screwing this up and sealant showing up in oil samples and clogging the returns.

Yes the UIDS is fully O-ringed

No leaks

No time consuming mess to clean

No risk of silicone stopping-up the oil flow

No silicone contamination of the oil samples

The main design objective of the UIDS is to stop oil starvation in long-high G turns....That achieved next objective was more ground clearance than 2 qt deep Sumps,,..Then next was " Fully O-ringed".....Slapping Silicone between two parts is the "cheapest" way to seal them but not the "BEST" way ...

So no sealant required? Did not know this. Game changer.

Purchased. Will do myself. Thank you PT3 for your efforts in keeping these cars alive and thriving.

Yes of course I have 40 of them on hand....

They are Viton ( best available for high temp oil )

VOR-N70- 103x13.950 They have to be special ordered from PSP Seals.....I buy them in batches of 50...

They can be reused many times until they lose elasticity ( takes years) as long as it doesn't get damaged in handling....

Just send me your E-mail and I can send a PayPal Invoice..

Had a cool experience Friday seeing UIDS at work. Going at a medium speed into a pretty sharp and long right handed sweeper, RPMs were only about 3k, and was not going fast but saw the oil pressure siting 3.5bar. About a second or so into the turn I saw the oil pressure just jump up to ~4.7bar as I assumed the piston in the UIDS switched to the other position where the oil was at the time during the turn. Very cool seeing the technology at work. I was running 5w50 at the time.

Can you provide more information about the oil temperature sensor port? Was unaware of this as well.

I have purchased an oil temperature sensor integrated into the drain plug, but this is suboptimal as I can no longer use a magnetic drain plug (although I still have a filter mag on the LN canister filter). What types of temperature sensors does the UIDS port accept?

On the Bank 2 side the UIDS is drilled and Tapped to use a 10mm AIM Temp Sensor for Data Logging or just reading Oil Temps..

I chose the 10mm spec because the AIM Temp Sensor is the most popular, and 10mm is the smallest diameter and can be drilled and tapped larger for other Sensors types

In Fact 10mm and 1/8 NTP are so close you can convert between the two without drilling,, just re-tapping ..( one is tapered and one is not )

The UIDS comes with a Black Annodized 10mm Plug and seal if not using an Oil Temp Sensor...
