Hung out with my 996 homies and drove down to Key Largo for breakfast. flat6Rebel snapped some pics of the car and man they came out great.

The car is up on the QuickJacks now and the oil is draining out for the sump removal tomorrow. Looking forward to installing the Hartech x Slakker sump and fresh filter. Probably should’ve done the sump install before the PCA event but oh well, time is a premium I don’t have sometimes. The XP6 came out pretty clean and no sludge on the LN magnetic drain plug.

glad to see the car back at homestead, I took that car there many many times. It's all good, just be carefull on turn 10, that's the only risky turn as you get confident. But perfect trackf or the car, and I never missed a bit there. have fun

Finally installed the Hartech x Slakker in the car today. Initially when ordering, Brandon reached out to and asked iff I had a factory baffle. He provided one and was very helpful through the process. If you do go ahead and get one, there are a couple things you need to do. I either trashed the install instructions or misplaced them, you’ll need to trim some plastics.

You’ll need to trim the factory baffle and depending on which oil drain/aeration tubes, one of the variants will need to be trimmed as well.

Here’s the upgraded tube that won’t require trimming.

The finished product:

The install is straight forward once you get the trimming done. 15 to 20mins of actual trim time and maybe 30mins of installation time. There are some o - rings on the end of the draining tube that you should probably look at, mine were in good shape.

Are the 2 holes at the bottom ports for being able to install a protective shield? Nicely done and of course love the witness marks on the bolts. It's the little stuff.....

I believe they’re part of the casting process. I did come across a thread on another forum about the LN shield clearing the sump.

*upon looking at the install thread… the LN will not work as the build page was on a 98X Cayman.

Thanks Chunk. I’m looking at putting the Slakker sump on at next oil change. I can’t get my wife to approve the cost of the UIDS.

I believe it’s 2qts. Filled the oil today and it shows full via the digital display and dipstick at 10qts of DT40.

The Slakker looks good and there’s data to support it as a viable upgrade. Need to get my UAOS from @Porschetech3 and that’ll be installed next year.

Good news on the 2qts. With the UAOS track you will be able to run 12 qts of oil using a 2qt sump. I just ran that amount a week ago on the track and the engine & UAOS handled the volume without a problem. Oil pressure looked very good as a result.

I’m glad to hear that. The design of the Hartech looks pretty cool to me. The plan is to do Sebring next year and it’s a loooong track so these brings should help.

On advice @wdb gave me, I bought a EVOMS air pump bracket to get the air pump away from the intake pipe. 10min install but now I need to polish out some scratches on the intake.

Before:

After:

The bracket moved pump a couple inches or so.

Welp I leave for work on Monday and this is last pic I’ll have before she goes into hibernation for 4 months.

I’ll be taking the TEs off and putting the OZ’s back on, she had a fresh oil change as well. Should be back by Jan/Feb 2024 and I’ll have to troubleshoot the Cargraphic Airlift kit, currently working with them and we’re at the point where I need to replace the relay. It won’t get here in time so we’re a good stopping point.

The carbon hood arrived it’s unfinished, I’m just glad it arrived and so rather than bitch about it… I’ll finish it myself.

The weave is straight and the plane is flat, all things that makes it a salvageable project. The idea would be to add one layer of resin to level it. If that comes out how I think it will… it’ll stay naked. If it comes out like crap… then we’ll paint. The thing weighs 10lbs!

Hopefully I’ll be home in time for Sebring next year. Think there’s a DE event in Feb/Mar and I’d like to be there for that.
