Speaking of interior, how much of an AE interior is leather?
Thanks! My hub should be here Tuesday so hope to have mine in by end of next week.

As far as the leather goes, it's really just about all of it minus the alcantara head liner. Dash, steering wheel, door cards, all pillars and sides of the rear seat area are all natural leather. It's called natural gray but looks more like charcoal to me. I really like it. I lucked out with having paint matched sport seats which are leather too.

The sports seats in the 40AE were heated as well. Pretty rare to find that combo otherwise.

Post some pics of the seats, especially the painted seat backs when you get the chance.

Thanks man. Not clear on the Honda comment though. My last Honda experience was years ago. 1992 Accord Coupe that I bought for $300 bucks with an engine producing smoke screen. Swapped in a JDM F22B - overnighter from Japan

They are indeed and partially was what made me pursue the car initially. I'm sure they're out there but quite rare and haven't seen any AE cars with them. They're fantastic and did me well on 1500 mile road trips. Beyond me when people got the comfort seats when they're not very comfortable at all. Updated interior shots coming once the Mod07 is installed.

You said you had an accord wagon, I'm a big wagon fan. And H-T is Honda-tech, although I don't think I'm proud of posting there lol

Ah crap... sorry missed that. Did a 65 mile and close to 7000ft of elevation bike ride in the mountains today so oxygen to the brain is not quite there yet hah. 996 can be a one car solution!

Wagons are the sh*t though and I'd get one in a heart beat over an SUV or a minivan. Mine was a pretty rare 1991 Accord w/ a manual with burgundy red paint with some metallic in it. Took this shot on the top of the Philly Museum of Art. Yup, you can drive up there

Wagons have plenty utility and the Honda hot boi days were pretty fun and thought me how to wrench a good amount. I used to spend some time on CB7 Tuner which was a great forum with many great resources. I basiclly lerned there how to swap an engine. I still have a photo somewhere of me standing in the engine bay!

Thank you! Hoping to get it out on the track this fall and definitely more once Skips UIDS passes all testing and is out!

Thanks bud! Beyond happy with how it all turned out. Recently I added 10mm of spacers in the front and now the stance is perfectly dialed in. Took it on some twisty roads around Shenandoah Mountains today and it just ate up the turns. Coffee and doughnuts at an overlook of Blue Ridge Mountains - highly recommended!

I’d love to make a trip in that area in the 996. Florida is flat as hell.

Man...

I am just loving the look of your apex wheels. Tell us about your apex wheel specs and what you did with spacers. What would you do differently regarding the wheels/spacers after going thru the process?

Picked up my car from St. Pete's so I feel your pain! Having said that, I'd encourage you to take a trip to north of Atlanta. I hit the Tail of the Dragon on my way home and there are many fantastic driving roads there. Highly recommend it. Your build is top notch as well and will be right at home on those roads. Just open Google Maps and look for squiggly lines

Thanks! I knew they'd look good but with the suspension done, it's safe to say they turned out great! It was a decision between the silver ones vs anthracite OR Victor Equipment Zuffen wheels in silver. In the end the Apex ones won for their motorsport-y look. The current specs are as follows:

Front: 18 x 8.5" ET50 with 10mm spacers. Tires: General GMax RS 235/40/18
Rear: 18 x 11" ET60 - no spacers. Tires: General GMax RS 295/30/18
45mm Rennline wheel studs on all 4 corners. With the 10mm spacers I'm maxed out on the front and would need longer studs. At proper torque the nut has about 2 threads showing. Rear is fine.

The Ohlins R&T are set according to the out of the box directions with slight adjustment to the front as it sat a bit too low. Looks GT3ish, looks good and clears my driveway. Rear camber is -1.5 and Front at -.5.

At this point I'm very happy with how it all turned out and would not really change anything. I could potentially add some adjustable arms if I want to go with more aggressive alignment (have adjustable end links) in the future but I drive the car a lot so trying not to buy new tires every 6 months. For my next set I'd like to try some PS4S to see what all the fuss is about. Tires can and probably will slightly change the aesthetics as some, like my current GMaxRS, have more of a rounded profile, especially in the rear, while others tend to be more squared off. I REALLY wanted a set of Lobster Forks before these but couldn't find them in the narrow body offset. I'm glad I went with 18" wheels though and would probably pursue the lobster forks more if they were made in 18" and not 19". I think 19" works with our cars but 18" looks proper and I like more tire sidewall. Having said that, besides the Fuchs, the Lobster Forks are the most Porsche wheels IMHO.

Rest of the bits should be coming in today for the Mod07 install so updated photos of the interior are coming. After that, I have a quart of FR50 left so once I burn through that bottle I'll do another UOA to see if the fuel dilution of 1.81 dropped with new injectors that were installed during the UAOS job It was still marked green but that's close to 2%. After that I'll do a 200 mile flush with BR30 and give Motul Xcess 5w-40 a try and continue to monitor the consumption.

BTW, here is a short clip of little tunnel ripper....

That sound is primo!

Thanks for the info. I have been running 2 sets of Carerra 5 spokes which are light and durable, one with track tires and one with street. They have done their job well over the years.

But it may be time to put the 5 spokers up for sale and get a new look with the Apex wheels as I get my 996 set for the next 20 years of ownership.

Agree with you on the 18 vs. 19 wheels. Something to be said on about the look of a wider 18 inch that fills the wheel well with the car at GT3 specs. Just looks good.
