Default Spyder Auto Tail light issue

Hey guys brand new Porsche owner here! I have a 2001 911 cabriolet that I just installed a pair of Spyder auto tail LED tail lights into. I blew the a4 7.5 fuse out when I first installed the lights, and now when I turn my headlights on my brake lights dont get brighter when i hit the breaks. It works fine with my headlights off so I do not think its the break switch. Everything else works perfectly! Please help!!!

Put the old light back in and see if the problem goes away.

I tried that but it did not help. Is there a relay of some sort?

No relay. Fuses. If you blew a fuse then something is wrong. LED lights are polarity sensitive, meaning the + and - connections make a difference in whether they work or not. You need to carefully check the wiring and bulbs in your new "brake" lights. Do all the other lights work...turn signals, parking lights, four way flashers, etc.?

yes all the other lights work perfectly. the brake lights work perfectly when the head lights are off. When I turn on my head lights it as though the brakes are pressed all the time. Even the 3rd brake light is fully illuminated.

Then you've fried/shorted some wires on that side of the tail light system. Time to get the multimeter out and start checking things.

yeah I think that is the next step. Anyone else have a issue with the break lights staying max brightness when the head lights are on?

Not to be picky (too much) but cars have "brakes" not "breaks". It helps a lot when you get the terminology correct. That being said, what IM000 said, check the entire tail light system with a multimeter. Something is wrong.

So if I had a multimeter what should I be looking for? Might need to make a stop at a autozone to borrow one

Find a friend that knows how to use one and work on circuits.
