Default 150k Miles!

Made it! Happened as I pulled into my driveway by chance.

1999 C4 Ocean Blue 6MT
Bought for $14,000 July 2018 with carfax showing no accidents and not much else records-wise.
Original IMS and no record or indication of major engine work.
Daily driver, runs like a champ.

Plans: Pinion bearing in transmission is making noise, so "while I'm in there" to remove the transmission to send to be rebuilt, I plan to replace the clutch, TOB, RMS, IMS, AOS, chain tensioners myself.
I hope it's worth it. I've had thoughts of instead of putting more money into this car, of selling (with full disclosure of all known issues) to buy a high mileage 996 turbo, as it seems they could be a better long-term platform, prices seem low-ish, and I can still get decent money out of this one while it is still running, versus after something serious with the engine occurs and it turns into a roller.

Sweet! Congrats! Maybe it's the color that means longevity...

Love threads like this that show how durable these cars can be instead of scaring everyone like the current Coronavirus mentality. Just about to hit 102K on my 99 C2.

Sweet! How did you get your exhaust tips so shiny? Mine look like they are made from tungsten or brass, lol

I think that the ocean blue metallic was a popular color that year, mine is the same color same year 99 build date 3/98. I do have you on miles still, 205k miles and still runs great.
you won’t regret moving to a turbo. I already have just over a year ago now. It’s a blast having that much more power.
you just need to learn when to use it.

205k miles, nice!

It's a great color, lots of dimensions depending on lighting. I spent quite a few hours with a clay bar, compound and polish bringing it back, totally worth it. The front end is full of chips which given the dark color are quite visible. I've thought about painting the front clip but then I'd probably stress about driving it more.

The turbo would be nice to make up for the hp I lose at 5400' altitude on the NA car. We'll see how the next few months play out.

The tips are replacements, I also replaced the exhaust with Agency Power cans (which really sound nice) and got the tips from eBay.

When the ambient temp was 30* my trans is really loud and am wondering if it's the same issue.
