Default Water Intrusion!

If it's not one thing it's another...
Water under passenger carpet. Mostly in the rear.
Can the carpets be lifted enough without removing the seats?

Update!
It was my AC drain line. The rubber elbow no longer has a tight fit to the hard drain line.

That sucks Bill. Better passenger side though, I suppose, than driver side where computer lives. Roof drains?

You should be able to get some access without removing the seats - i'd vote water drains too if its a coupe

That's what I would think. but it looks like the sunroof drain is on the drivers side in the book, so I'll have to dig into it when I have time. I had other plans for the next few days but I need to get this fixed ASAP!

I feel the same way. I have to pull the drivers seat to check for burned wires or a fried DME component. Possibly water-related.

That is a bummer....is it a coupe or convertible? Let us know how you fix it. I often consider what I would do on such a situation if it's coupe. I would xpel the sun roof seams until I had time to tear the insides apart to get at the drain lines.

Either way good luck!

That's a great idea. I'm just not sure if it's the sun roof, rear quarter window or rear window yet. I can't see a water trail. I'll have time the next to days to look deeper.

Maybe - don’t want to jump the gun, but could be. I smelled burned wires during a panic stop.

Hey Bill, you really can't do much with the seat still in for the rear carpet area. It's only 4 bolts to hold the seat in. Just remove the passenger seat, loosen the carpet from the door sill area ect. , then lift it up at least a foot or so and put a fan on blowing air at the underside of the carpet, it will be dry the next day.

As far as the source for the water, if not the front battery area drain (which would also have the front area wet), then the sunroof drains, there are 4 drain tubes, one on each corner.

As soon as my back pain subsides I'll be able to get on it, been a rough week.

Do I need to disconnect the battery to remove the seats? Also can I drive without the passenger seat if needed or will this throw a seatbelt code?

This may be a good time for me to see if the seat backs can be swapped from side to side.

You will throw a seat belt code if you drive the car or turn on the ignition with the seat out. If you don't turn on the ignition, the code will not set.

If you have a Durametric, erasing the code is no problem.

I will be disconnecting the battery when I pull my seat, just in case there is a wiring issue (short).

.Had an appointment with my massage therapist and am feeling much better! Unfortunately it is raining, so I taped off the sunroof (thinking that was the culprit) but got more water on the passenger front...

Actually, call it a Christmas gift, now you know it's not the sunroof, so your search is narrowed
