Time to crack the crankcase carrier open.
I am not looking forward to installing the pistons, pins and clips. That looks like an adventure.
A little inspiration:
A lot of nuances captured in the DVD and in this next shot. Was nice to know, in advance, what to look for. Will need to try and stay a few chapters ahead in my studies...

Won't be posting much here anymore. The "management" has seen fit to embrace the SJW and cancel-culture attitude. It seems tolerance and diversity are only acceptable as long as it aligns with their ideals. Once my membership expires, I won't be renewing and therefore will lose all photo posting privileges. I've already exceeded the non-member quota by about one million...
Following your rebuild has been very educational, entertaining and encouraging for me to do more of my mechanical work myself.

Scott - small favor to ask .Would you mind measuring the rear shock od ? The question really is : will a 2 inch coilover sleeve fit and extend past the spring perch .I need to lower my rear by about 1 inch due to lighter engine swap .The stock shock dampening is fine and would like to use them with sleeves and new coil springs .
Really have enjoyed your posts and appreciate the amount of effort you put into them .

You might have to modify the retaining clip that holds the perch. Another option might be to get a 2" spring that's one inch shorter than the stock spring. But then you would still need to workout the upper mount. Here's a shot of the shock OD.
