Default My Good Angle

Granted, it's not the most common viewing angle for these cars, but honestly anybody who says the 996.1 headlights are ugly needs to rethink. The whole car looks so fluid and harmonious from this angle. I think if you say this is ugly, you have to go all the way and say cars like the Carrera GT and 918 are ugly too, since they're quite similar. Taken in the garages at Mid-Ohio this weekend:

Thanks! Was overpriced, but goes nicely with the paint, smoked turn signals, etc. Yellow/gold is not a fit.

All Porsche's are beautiful and unique by their individual generational differences ... That's why we buy them.

Same here, I also did overpay for that silver hood-crest (couldn't resist) to match all other Porsche crests I had on my car (steering wheel & wheel center caps). Btw OP's car looks great, the paint looks brand new, good job keeping it super clean and shiny.. Cheers,

Thanks! Tube lighting has a way of making any car look shiny since you get some nice crisp highlights. I'll cheat any way I can!! In reality the car is probably like an 8/10 up close.

Did you do the amberectomy or was it already done when you bought it?

It still has the amber reflector bits in the headlights, they just don't show up much if you're viewing from ~waist level or higher. Yet another reason this is a good angle

I bet the designers were completely dismayed by the lack of understanding of the headlights. It has taken a long time to achieve acceptance.

The problem isn't the headlights, it's that they paired them with the boxster and therefore are perceived as being a common element with a lesser car.

Moving away from the air-cooled engine was the core problem for the purists; the non-iconic headlight was the straw on the camel's back.

In spite of all of this, the car saved the company and sold more than any of it's predecessors.
