I haven't experienced *envy*, but a friend of mine has a cherry, full body-off restored, '61, series 1, Jaguar XKE rag-top, black with red leather, and by Gawd, I envy him every time he opens the garage door and we go for a ride. Whatta car!

YES - but to avoid a Poll

here is a link - you can hear Alois Ruf pronounce his own name. My guess is he got it right.

This is a fantastic set of 4 videos that are really worth watching (Thanks Redridge again! )

And creek - "crick"... and all of you - "y'all"?

Reminds me of a time I was working with some guys from Univ of Texas - guy calls me up on the radio - "Y'all 'er ready?"
I ask him "What???"
He repeats "Y'all 'er ready??"
Again, I say "What???"
He says "I said, Y'all 'er ready???"
Still didn't really hear him right, so I say, "Larry, What's Y"all 'er???"

Larry, this great big Texan, cowboy/electrical engineer, with a great big Texan accent says to me, "I guess where you come from it's a color..."

That's a no-sh*tter...

I respond, "What's sugarback???"

After a pregnant pause... In their most proper British accent, "Just bugger off, Rudy..."

I guess they needed their tea...

It was a long project, but fun...

Great topic. Sold my 944 after 19 years, paid off the SuperCrew, saved for 8 months, now i'm wondering where i can park my car so the jerk who does my revue won't take "he just bought a porsche" into consideration. I worked nearly 500 hours overtime last year and I'm affraid I'll have to hide the car I've wanted since I was 14. I'm 41 now...

27 years is long enough to wait...... (my wait was 28 and I wish everyday I had done it sooner)

problem is, even if you buy an 80's 911... people think you're loaded... its that classic shape that screams, expensive.

SH*T I thought I bought the one that sreamed "Large Pen*s""

I gave a ride to a co-worker out for lunch yesterday, he was in AWE saying "man. I never have had a chance to ride in a car like this before" - He bought a new Prius last year that prbably cost 2x what I paid for my car - some people just dont know how to make good choices

It's great being a math teacher - that's what I am. I guess people are jealous that we're good with numbers!
