Same is true for mine. Although I don't bring mine to work. I'm a career changer and am in my 2nd year of 8th grade math. Took a big pay cut, but I'm extremely happy. Although pulling up in a SY C4S attracts a lot of attention, even though they don't realize that as a CPO there are several cars in the lot that are more expensive.

I still need to worry about the kids - they see me - they tell their parents- and then next thing is "teachers are wwaayy over paid!"

My wife is a teacher, and she has just begun driving the Cayenne to work every day. She has already received a comment about it. She told me that she doesn't ever want to drive the 996 to work.

yea, but they are great for hauling garbage and junk, camping, skiing and taking the dogs with

more of a "fun when you get there -vs- fun getting there"
(except the garbage hauling - which is both..... I mean neither )

My wife initially got some comments too. Drive them to lunch a few times, they'll shut up. Besides anyone who thinks a teacher is overpaid needs a reality check.

Wink ANITA P

I guess I kinda worked it around the other way...before Ebay. Had a friend who was a car dealer and we would fly down to the Orlando car auction in March. I would buy a 944, drive it back to Iowa. After a couple of months of having fun with it, I would sell it for about $2 to $3K profit. People would always be floored that one could buy a Porsche for $10,000!

Just a side note...so there I was bringing one back, in Southern Iowa, hands in the 10 and 2 position, 90 mph, seat belt fastened, rearview mirror adjusted, vigilant, (speeding, ya know) when I was passed by a 70's something Sunbird with bad shocks AND the girl was putting on make-up looking in her mirror. Must have been doing 100mph. Her vanity plates read ANITA P. Always remember that, especially at times like this....I NITA PEE. Bye

haha
a couple weeks ago I went for beers with the guys from my indy shop. One customer has a couple "kids" (maybe 20) that are "ALL THAT" While telling stories across beers I said "Porsch "eh" when refering to my car and one of the kids piped up and corrected me "It's PORSH"

I give up on that one... If Alois Ruf says Porsch "eh" than i sure as hell am not stopping anytime soon!!

(see this awesome set of vids found by Redridge LINK )

My guess is he knows how to say it ....

She has driven the Cayenne to work multiple times, but for whatever reason today was an especially brutal day... Comments like "I guess the Math teachers get paid more than the rest of us..." Blah Blah Blah.

She is taking it in stride.

Many, many people are morons. No surprise there.
