That orange seems to be a good match.

Still seems like a very good choice and reasonably priced. I wonder how it compares functionally/feature-wise to the other Continental radio. I guess we should use model numbers to distinguish.
The CDR-210 and CR-210 (holdover from 993 and present in some early cars) had the orange backlight with black letters.

Exactly, the last of the air-cooled is exactly where the entire LCD display being backlit is a fit for me. The 996 is such a modern makeover of the prior, that the LED-like display seems more appropriate, but obviously we can only choose from the radio options that are available (so I'm nitpicking).

It's been a while since I've seen it (so I might be wrong), but I think this is what the original radio in my 2000 996 looked like:

If you are careful enough, you can remove the polarizer and flip it over to invert the letters/backlight on most all monochrome LCD's. I have done this on some - not the Continental radio.

Wow -- I never thought of that. Make perfect sense, the LCD is really just a selective blocker/ebnabler of light, so it's just changing what you block.

I have rss and mine work fine. Now my car is an early car and don’t know how much difference that makes, I also believe the car has some kind of tune.

My car is 01/98. I just noticed a saved code when I scanned it yesterday. Cleared it and can report back after I get a couple more miles on it. I have the stock tune.

Default Litronics swap

My family got me new (used) litronics for my birthday tomorrow. Today I swapped them into the car and verified everything works. I'm still in awe of how easy it really was.

Got her out for a drive to the PCA National open house, and another event earlier in the morning. About 4 hours on the road in total today!

very cute! my large pit bull/terrier won't probably stand for that. i took him on a ride and he loved every bit of it but he was all over the place. front, back, front, back. the center arm rest all scratched up lol. he also loves to hang out mid torso over the window close to falling out! i smartened up and kept the window half close so he doesn't scratch up the door paint haha.
to think i am contemplating in taking him with me from Ohio to Texas to visit a friend.

very nice interior btw!!

It's an unmodified 2/98 car... I think I'll keep them with it just for cause.
