If Mick passes, I'm still interested if it's for sale.

Default Update...Tx

Few new pics...car maybe done this week! Looking forward to it....But as mentioned from here will go to have the Gambella side skirts removed.
I had some time to do a general inventory on the car and capture what the car has and has had done. Thanks for all the input and support from members here...may have missed a few things.... here goes...

1998 Porsche RUF Turbo R conversion

35K miles

RUF Turbo R (490hp) conversion (documented RUF paperwork) done at 21K miles in 2001 so this engine has less then 15K miles. It was a new engine shipped from Germany with a RUF Tech who performed the conversion.

Exterior – RUF Front bumper, RUF rear bumper, RUF emblems, Shaved Rain Gutters, Turbo S Air Ducts in rear fenders, OEM Porsche Turbo S wing + have a stock 993TT rear deck lid wing maybe swapping out for.

Interior – All new CF Carbon Fiber Dash, CF gauge surround, CF glove box panels, CF button trays, CF E-brake with RUF logo, CF Sills with RUF logo. (all CF by Marcus) New stereo head unit (CD, Bluetooth, Voice, Ipod Connect, etc) and all new Infinity speakers front and rear. OEM red Porsche seat belts, 993 to 996 Porsche power seat conversion with white painted seat backs, RS style black leather Door panels with Blue pulls, RUF Pedal Set, RUF shifter, RUF Green gauges. Valentine one hard wire install by rear view mirror. RUF steering wheel with airbag.

Engine – FULL inspect and refresh from one of the best shops in the Northeast Eurotech in Framingham Ma. Engine removed and gone through fully…New seals and gaskets, replaced one cylinder head with Porsche OEM part we shipped in from Germany and more.... Turbos sent out to Ultimate Motorwerks FULL rebuild, not a basic rebuild but new turbine wheels, etc all done to RUF specs. New flywheel (dual mass Porsche unit) and all new Clutch assy (pressure plate, disc and release bearing) are Sachs (Sport, heavy duty)

Suspension – Wheels – Brakes – Exhaust - Bilstein PSS9 coil overs. Wheels are 19 RUF Powdercoat Matte Black, HR wheel spacers in rear, BIG red Brakes painted yellow with RUF script and replaced all brakes lines with OEM Porsche parts. Car has stainless Fabspeed exhaust and RUF Exhaust tips.

As going through car we did a bunch of small things like remove the old amp and 6 disc changer (still have parts), stereo was fully rewired, power mirror motor replaced as one side had some issues in one direction, etc etc....

Sounds like you kept a few people pretty busy!! Glad to hear you're getting the car soon ... my car is now in CT ... we should organize an East CT, RI, MA get together before winter hits or in the Spring!

Default Spring.....

will have to be Spring for me as still have some things to do.... I had purchased a lot of the mod parts and ordered the Carbon stuff from Marcus before I knew I was going to the extent I did with the engine.... as you (and many here have been through) can imagine I am well beyond what I had in budget.... well beyond.

Yes ... just had the bumpers, aerokit & ruf seats installed and calipers repainted ... and I am still not done ... so that is a very familiar situation ... hope the car comes out exactly as you want it!

See u in the Spring!

You can try to get them directly from Ruf Germany, or you can order a set of Konig K5000 which are the same, you can recover them to Ruf specs and save a bundle.,cheers.

^ this - if you call from the US, Ruf Germany will probably refer you to their importer (Ruf Auto US - Mike Melville) - got mine from Mike and was satisfied with service, shipping etc ... about double the cost vs K5000 though!

Default Final pics....

Car should be ready Sunday for pick up, new clutch and flywheel added to the list of new parts.... the one in it had some life left but to go through all this work and not have this replaced I just thought wouldn't have been right........Whether I keep the car or end up selling it I will know there is a long clutch life ahead of it!... Anyway, that is the update...Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving...

I plan to do the proper brake in sessions for the turbos and cylinder head etc... and then in a week or so right to body shop to remove Gambella side skirts and then done....
