I've owned lots of 911's over the years including two 993s. But never a TT
Anyway, I have had several 997's too.
Want to buy a Porsche I can keep and be DONE. Well, at least for a while...![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
There are several 997 TTSs I've been looking at and have driven a couple. WOW!!!!
But my mind keeps coming back to the 993 TT as the the long-term keeper. The 997 may eventually start to go up, but there is no doubt that 993TTs are HOT right now. I have my eye on one in particular and really think I want it. Am going to drive a 964 Turbo that I know all about tomorrow and may like it. Know the one owner for years and have seen the car. may buy it on the spot.
But the 993 TT is calling me
So tell me something BAD, really BAD about them.
If anyone has had both a 964 and 993 Turbo please share with me either out front or PM
Thanks!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
PS, while we are at it. Can anyone justify the ^^^ $'s for the "S"

Like what everyone else said. There's nothing really.
I had a Turbo 3.6 two cars ago and it's a beast. It's quintesential Porsche for sure. BUT the TT just brings you into the newer technology really, 4WD, slightly more comfort and better handeling. The look of the TT, too me is just the friggin dogs nuts! Just sex on wheels. Awesome ****.
As much as I liked the T3.6, the TT is the better car for my driving.
Both cars are holding up dollars wise. The shape man......the shape.
Kind of like this....

They are more expensive to maintain than a NA 993. There is just more to (potentially) go wrong. I'm not saying they are any less reliable, but don't buy one and then try to run it on a shoestring. For example, the turbo actuators can fail (and writing from experience, £1k here in the UK to buy a fit, presume similar $1.5k in the US), if it's smokey and a turbo has gone bang, then you probably won't see change out of $4k apiece without fitting.
Otherwise, you will find yourself having to give it 'plenty' at every opportunity - power is so additctive

Owned a 94 3.6 turbo back in the day and have had the 993TT for 12 years. The design and shape of each is fantastic, though the 993TT is much more modern looking IMO. Also, the power delivery is so linear in the TT compared to the single turbo non-motronic 3.6. Clutch is also much much lighter in the TT. I love both cars.
