Thanks guys. Still working on the insurance issue.
We'll see what happens over the next few days and post then.
It's not all over yet
I will repair the car if I have too. I was also wondering about the airbags. but it wasn't a head on collision and the bumper was ripped off from the right hand side.
It's a good thing they never went off anyway.
In a really crazey way, this will give me a project over summer. I like mucking around in the shed on these things.
Could have been a lot worse, like a total write off.
Those guys at DC auto are amazing to deal with too. Huge inventory and really helpful.

Graham,

I too have not been posting much - going through a few things at my end.

Firstly - Glad you are ok - Broken ribs hurt like hell - for ages too - but it COULD have been much worse.

Secondly - very sorry to hear this And i do feel your pain.... but in the end its ONLY a car.

Thirdly - for parts help - Email or PM me - I can put you in touch with the right people here that will help with parts - I even know where a few 2nd hand panels might be....

Not sure how the insurance will go - my experience with AU companies is that they will fight it like crazy...

Get better !

Simon.

Hi 993man,
Thats painful to look at. I hope the ins works out. If not I have some misc leftover over 993 parts, also if you need anything from pelican im in the states early NOV and can bring misc smaller parts back with me. I know where there are a set of tail lights and front corner lights. Lastly I highly recommend kiwishipping.co.nz if you buy anything from USA (ebay, etc) just have it shipped to them in LA and they will consolidate the items and send on a container (they ship just about every couple weeks to NZ some are 14day too.) - feel free to email/pm.

p.s. I agree with you Porsche parts in NZ are 300% more and a ripoff.
With the strong kiwi dollar I would get all the parts from USA and ship. check pelican for new parts, or their forums for a private seller parting one. Lastly I'm getting cab soft top from Rick at weekendrides.com, he has mostly 993 wrecks and is great to deal with.

Good luck
Brian - bcaway@yahoo.com

Thanks Iruss,
It has worked out. My parts pallet is about to leave LA Porsche on a jet plane
Can't wait for it be back where it belongs either, just in time for summer.

Congrats on it working out for you..and your fortunate you were'nt more seriously injured..
My Arena '96 TT looked just about exactly like that after a late nite after party run and I don't drink!
The insurer did just about right it off but I kept it any how and the front tub area and floor are likely
the most expensive repair area if factory sections are used but a competent shop can do miracles with
used chassis components and keep the cost down..
My baby has been repaired and is updated at this point to GT2 spec so something good has come from
it afterall, Todd and his fellows likely have any and everything you could use,a few choice parts here
a deft adjustment there and viola your back! Bert

No sure you want to buy the 993 RUF. That was in worse condition than yours about 6 months ago. Seller is trying to make a killing on the sale.
