One feature I LOVE about the RUF conversion, besides the extra 100 HP, is the Sport Exhaust. It just sounds right, and when I'm in an underpass, hammering down the throttle releases a symphany of music to my ears - LOVE IT!
Totally agree. I'm running an HHR CAI, ipd Intake Plenum, Fabspeed Secondary Cat Bypass Pipes, a cargraphic Muffler, and EVOMS Billet Diverter Valves on mine and the sounds are as enjoyable as the power. Still quiet enough for long hauls when cruising along, but much different at WOT. I just ordered my Fabspeed custom tune yesterday to maximize the benefits of the mods.
cjd92: 2001 Ruf RGT, Spring Green, Ruf VIN, lightweight build, one of a kind color, single 'family' ownership since new, Keswick, Virginia
Did some fun photos this fall (2019) with my friend Greg Keysar inconjunction with shooting some other cars for an RM Sotheby's event. An original Ruf RGT, 1 of 17, lightweight build, engine is rated at 385+bhp and was completely taken apart and machined by RUF before reassembly. It has the RGT spec fully integrated roll cage fitted into the interior. The dry sump 3.6L Mezger motor was derived from the MkI European GT3, which wasn't available in the USA until 2004. Photography by Greg Keysar.

I'm glad to see this thread is still alive 14 years after I started it. There are some gorgeous and rare cars listed here. Sigh. I wish Rufus (1996 Turbo R) was still alive ( I'm currently enjoying my "Mazdarati" (2012 Miata), but it ain't no Ruf! I miss you guys very much.

Late last year I purchased this 1998 RUF Turbo (1 of 14 Factory "W09" Cars). It is currently undergoing a complete mechanical restoration, ....we are currently over 275 hours into the project...about halfway there.
I am looking forward to getting it back on the road. I would love to hear from other RUF owners (past, present, or future).
Cheers

The hyper silver paint should be available from Ruf. I have purchased it from them in the past to paint some wheels. The paint is very, very thin so your painter will have to know how to shoot paint of that consistency.

Thanks. Anyone have good wheel refurb shop in mind? I live in the DFW area but I am happy to ship to a respected shop.
