IM not sure but KPG and Jean can confirm.
I guess they can look at the Gs...
I know that on my current stock OEM tire sizes I tap out at around 126 mph in 3rd gear.... and that is where I think KPG extracted that data. 3rd gear pull.
best,

TB..3rd gear. He is just shy of being able to do the 60-130 in one gear as well, close but not enough gear..Kevin

The benefits of that 8000rpm red line......fantasic
I'm really looking forward to the 100-300kph time, I am thinking it may break into the teens
I have edited my signature accordingly

TB, just add "aircooled" to the world title, don't delete it.

I agree that 8K RPM must be such a blast to drive, the car must just keep pulling and pulling.

What is awesome about this rev monster is that there is real power being delivered high up the rev range, check out the torque surge at~7400rpm

Then look at what it does on the road at the top of third gear, the long Gs go wonky (at the 4.9s mark) as presumably it breaks traction and the acceleration curve kinks a bit -lovin it

Markski, hope you don't mind me reproducing your dyno curves on here

What these graphs also show is the lag which the rev monster has.......if it is reving to ~8000rpm in the third gear run to 200kph (124.4mph) then its third gear is at about 15.75mph/1000rpm.
when the car hits 100kph(62.1mph) the revs are ~3900rpm you can see the turbos waking up by looking at the longitudinal Gs, the Gs peak as the turbos spool up to max and hit peak torque right around 4750rpm.

If you contrast this to my ex world record 1 gear run you see that my car has already spooled by 3500rpm as the car goes through the 100kph(62.1mph) mark and is already giving its Gs around the 0.48G mark.

Its all relative of course and peak torque at 4750rpm for an 8000rpm motor is pretty nifty and it shows just how fast it accelerates to make up the "lag" time and achieve the 5.4s

TB... I glad you are taking the shock of losing your crown well.... it speaks volumes about you Anyway, I read your post and got to thinking. I have driven Mark's car and really didnt notice any lag,but you made some good points about those graphs. So , I decided to compare my best 1 shift with 60-130 of 7.93 with my old setup of stg2 ZC's and Mark's current best of 6.44 60-130 with 1 shift.... It sure does look like the turbos need some time to spool, but they sure do hit hard when they do. At some points my car jumps out by 50+ feet until 95 when it is a car length behind and it turns ugly at that point ...Kevin

Very interesting......
I guess if (and that has to be a big IF at these levels of G) he can get traction in second then the fastest 100-200kph time will be using second and third.

Oh and don't worry about the crown, it was fully tongue in cheek anyway - I just love this stuff

TB...I dont know. Second gear is going to be very hard to hook up. I know he is looking into some susp and tire upgrades, but it will be tough. I think the 100-300km will be an eyeopener though. Kevin

Pssst... I know you were kidding about the title....So was I.

Those Protomotive engine graphs show why the car is so fast with basically stock boost and displacement. They're getting power by increasing the RPM. There must be considerable engine work to get reliable horsepower at those revs. And the intake and exhaust work to flow that much air must be pretty impressive. Do you have any pictures of the intake and exhaust system?

BTW, lag is the time between pressing the accelerator and getting the full engine power you would expect at that RPM (that's very short in a CGT, almost instant). I'd guess that these Protomotive cars are not very competitive around a small track with many turns that require constant on/off throttle. Any experience with that?

You guys are blowing me away... I'm new to this driftbox stuff... thanks to KPG
all these runs were made in really poor driving conditions...as a matter of fact.. the 5.44 was on warn out MPSCs in 40 degree temps at best. the boost is peaking .9 bars since Im keeping the greddy off for now. KPG has been egging me on to do the 100 to 300 Km but the temps are ugly here...
Ill do ity also with the boost off and with the PSM ON... I really dont know how this car will behave with yet up on top... So Im getting used to it... especially with full boost and the traction OFF.
VRalexander has said that the car will move a lane on you at those speeds as you shift and or let off.
all in good time....

The 245-40-18 & 335-30-18 RA1's are slightly taller and may enable 60 -130 in 1 gear.

I can't wait to see the numbers this spring when a little boost can be applied!
