I was in a business meeting in the Arts District and in the vicinity of this dealer today and popped by to check out the aforementioned '98 C2S. They have other supercars in there and a very interesting 70s Silver 911 S. Let's just say that the photos of this car do better justice and once again would like to take the opportunity to thank my '96 C4S PO @csmab for taking such great care of what is already an amazing car and the only thing I have done is follow suit. Dealer asking $75k, this car sat here on RL for about 5 months at $68k, not sure what the PO sold it to the dealer for but not much else to say. I browsed under the hood a bit started it up and left. And to think at one point PO wanted to straight trade it for my Panamera Turbo.

Was not looking at Vesuvio, that car is in NY. I am in Miami Beach. Looked at the Ocean Blue Metallic on the previous photos.

BAT *SOLD* 21K miles! $139K

This was my friends car who was looking for a quick sale. Exceptionally clean example although lack of proper wheels seems to have hurt it. reserve was actually $140k. BaT covered the $1k and then there is the $5k fee. So sale price is $145k. If it didn't sell he was contacted by someone off line who was willing to pay $150k after passing a full PPI. Either way someone got a great car for reasonable money. It seems easier to find nice 993TT's than it does 964 turbos lately.

Gotcha. Was on my dimly lit phone and couldn't tell the color from your post. LOL

Cool thanks for the backstory on the car. Very nice example and bought well then. Despite the wheels it was an excellent car.

There were comments on BaT that being non stock brought down the price. Seems funny to me as the difference in value should be only the net cost to replace the parts.

Interesting comment on the 964 turbos. My Indy mechanic shop has been solely focused on servicing air cooled Porsches for around 40 years. They had a 964 Turbo in the shop and the owner told me that I “don’t want one of these because it is next to impossible to find parts for the 964 turbos. When you can they are extremely expensive because there are a lot of parts that are unique to the 964 Turbo.” I don’t know what the parts are, but I took his advice.

IMO it was the wheels which started off as a huge - topic. You should be able to remove the factory CF bits and sell them off for a profit over stock parts.

Not sure what your mechanic is telling you. There is an issue with the EZ-69 module being NLA but it is on the classic departments list to remake. The problem is the technology is old and some chips are NLA so I believe it will require a redesign. They are available used but pricey. Other than some heater parts that can be made out of piping most parts are readily available and most are interchangeable with the C2/C4. So this is hype and not a real issue.

A nice 3.3l in similar condition will see the same if not more than this 993TT did and a similar condition 3.6T will sell for a minimum of $100k more I have seen some recently sell with more miles for more than double what his 993TT's are selling for. He is actually looking for a nice 964 turbo but the search goes on. Although there are very few 964T's out there for sale in this condition and nearly everything sitting for the past year or so I wouldn't give you much if anything for.

Based on recent sale prices and offerings over the last 45 days it seems that it is more of a seller's market at the moment.

'98 C2S 103k miles $75k CCC Dealer
'97 C4S 33k Miles $140k GEARS ATL dealer
'98 C2S 74k miles Vesuvio $100k
'98 C2S 33k miles front wreck unverifiable damage $86k
'96 C4S 50k miles BAT $117k
'97 C2S 8k miles allegedly $135k PH1
'97 C2S 234 miles plastic wrapped allegedly $200k Private party in MASS

I'm sure I missed some but aside from the 140k stupidity the trend seems to be more on the upside of pricing. @Jay777 might have more accurate info on this. If I ever decide to sell, know that nobody is going to convince me to sell any of my Pcars at 'wholesale market' value so except for the ludicrous outliers like the $140k, $98k sunshine and $200k uni, the rest are pretty much at the seller's price and for the buyer to pay... Or not... Just MHO.

If anyone is interested in the Vesuvio, that particular dealer is willing to take 90k.

I have the BaT car in the data base. If you can confirm sale price of any of the others let me know.
FYI, BaT has a couple C2's on auction now:
97 C2
96 C2
