I had both as well and agree, but wouldn't pass on the right WB either.

Thanks in advance for your expertise!
Watching that one too, guessing low 60's. BAT seems to mean higher prices on some, especially when you consider the buyer premium. Also, this I'm not sure of, but how do you arrange a PPI after the sale?

There's a nice looking C4S in Delray Beach, at least so the pictures and description would suggest. I had a PPI and it failed miserably-repainted body panels, rust around front and rear window, CV boots shot, etc, etc. I'm a bit gun shy if you can't arrange a PPI.

a ppi happens before the sale, not after..if you win its yours, finito..

I have seen a sale fall through on BaT after the auctions ends. In those cases, BaT still takes the 5% commission from the buyer.

The car has been serviced at Pat Williams in Memphis, which is pretty much the only recommended shop I could find on here, pelican parts, etc. So it would not necessarily be fresh or unbiased eyes looking at the car. Will have to take that in to account when the bidding kicks off in earnest.

You would think BaT selling prices might be a little lower overall since buyers have to factor in the commission, but that certainly does not seem to be the case.

I understand that, exactly why I walked away from a car which didn't measure up to the claims made by seller.

You can also reach out to the seller on BAT using contact seller and arrange a ppi. Kind of some pressure though since you have to find a shop and the days are ticking down. You do get their contact info too that way if the car doesn't sell on BAT and could attempt to buy it after the auction ends. Not sure of the legality of that. I tried once on a car that didn't sell, but it had sold before I emailed. So I'm guessing there are a few cars the don't meet reserve but then get sold really fast. Sure BAT not to happy about that 'lost' revenue and perhaps why they push for a lower reserve than many sellers are comfortable with.

As regards to the Midnight Blue C2 on BAT right now, I'd go for it. That's an awesome color, but I'm a little biased.

Came in second.. I really liked it but not enough to go above my arbitrary number for what I was willing to spend on that particular vehicle. The search continues!

I was watching but not bidding. My budget was lower than what it sold for. When I factored in the buyer premium, sales tax and transportation, couldn't justify moving over $60k with a bid.

Sounds like your math and my math were not too far apart from each other.

For a price point, I just paid $78k for a silver C4S with 69K miles on it. Clean Carfax, recent clutch and gasket change.

Man that TT would have to just sit to keep the value. Buy it, drive it, and the price plummets with the miles. Sad.
