Default What the frunk is this part for?! :)

Dear fellow rennlisters!

Found this round piece of plastic in the frunk but can't find out were to fit it!
I think it belongs to the car but one never knows!

Does anyone here know or shall we guess together?



The mysterious piece of plastic to the left!

HAVE U RECENTLY CHANGED ANYTHING?

did the 30,000 MAINTENANCE ?

Good eye TJ. I agree.
Those things are tough to line up and get on correctly.

I found a couple of these pieces laying around behind the firewall when I did my evaporator replacement. I'm not certain but perhaps it is used when attaching the plastic cover that goes near the cowel, covering up the servos and all that busy stuff.

There are no threads in the plastic piece and it's black so it's not a knurled nut!

Random guess, but is it the receptacle for the front carpet fastener right behind the bumper? Fastener shown in this thread:

I initially thought the fresh air cover knurled nut, but its not plastic, and does not have an angled counersink. See post #3.
