This is what arrived back from the printers today. I sanded them for a few minutes to get an idea of how finishable they are and they are easy enough to work with. I'm going to talk to some people here about trying to get a smoother face and if it can be achieved in the print rather than with elbow grease.
Wish I had my car to test them on but it's in the shop for it's yearly service, NC State Inspection and a few other sundries. A/C blowing ambient, beading around front bumper being replaced and a weirdness in the cars feel since I switched from 17" Cup 2's to 18" TT Extremecontact DW's for both.
Link to video on finishing off these pieces. Seem's obvious enough but be aware that most of this will be necessary. The support material will be removed at least.
I'm reading up on cold acetone smoothing at the moment and will experiment with it over the weekend.
New revisions will be going out on Friday evening.
Very small ridge. Half base, trimmed for foglight removal.
This is a cold acetone vapor bath of a test piece which had a particularly rough finish. Left in overlong methinks but it certainly smooths it out a fair amount. I'll be more judicious on pieces I actually care about. Don't know if I would recommend this over elbow grease yet.
I put one of the higher quality pieces in the vapor bath and I didn't like the results. In the end it was faster to get out some sandpaper and do this by hand.
All in all, I'm about ready to call this one and start a batch of parts. PM me and I will send you directions on how to secure a set. I'll start another thread tomorrow because this one is far too long and winding. Don't be surprised if you don't hear back from me for a bit, but if PM me I will see it.
I'm assuming they are exactly the same, just black shows more. Based on that, since they will be painted many different colors, maybe black is better, in order see the imperfections, so they can be prepped better. Right? I'm in for a set.

PM sent.
You are correct sir!
The black doesn't hide details the way the white does which makes them easier to finish as you can see when it's smooth more easily. I think that I will get the finished models in black for this very same reason.
IF you have already PM'd me regarding getting a set and you have read this thread and can't accept the provisions, just PM me back and I'll knock you off the list.
These were printed at a different orientation to see if there was a better result on the face of the piece. while technically there is, the ridges have taken a step backwards so this is a dead end.
Again, if you want a set, now maybe be the only opportunity to get one. Read the first post of this thread for details PM me if you are OK with the caveats.
