took the 993 (recently purchased, thorough records past 7yrs, 69k miles) in this week to have a 30k service performed....uncovered a leaking lower right valve cover so had both left and right gaskets replaced. found that the flap vent? motors weren't functioning properly so had those parts and a/c climate resistor replaced as well. since the car came with only one key/fob, ordered a second one which the shop will re-program as well (why are the 993s such pains in the butt to work on?). fearing that the rear rotors will need replacing too (front rotors and pads all around were done a couple of years ago). looking forward to getting it back!

Replaced torn steering rack bellows. Boot wasn't torn longs fortunately. Pretty quick and easy using the Garth S coat hanger tool. Second time I've done it this way and was really easy.

Not too bad. Lots of pics online of how to remove the door panels and speakers. Biggest issue I had was in removing the internal plastic door lock cover as you have to figure how to wiggle it around just right to remove it and get access to one of the bolts holding on the handle. I always take longer than normal as I also use the time as an opportunity to clean up old dirt/grease . Others have said that they found the handle nuts have some rust so they had to spray some PB Blaster on them but I didn't have an issue with that. It's a tight fit to get to one of the bolts with a socket wrench but you can also do it with just an open end wrench turning a 1/2 turn at a time or use a small universal joint. If you haven't repaired your door pockets yet, this is also a good time to do it.

Couldn't believe it myself..! The Scales round to the nearest 10Kg, so worth bearing in mind..
