After replacing my stone guards with clear Suntek material a few weeks ago, I got an estimated to replace the rubber seals around my door handles which have deteriorated despite meticulous care over the last 20 plus years. The dealer wants $ 1600 to replace both sides due to high labor of taking door panels, etc. off......I trimmed them up a bit and the seal is still in place, so that repair will not take place...

The convertible passenger side top latch stuck closed yesterday after fixing the driver's side a few weeks ago........I was able to adjust microswitches, lubricated the latch hinges, cleaned and smoothed the roof pins which were causing the roof to stick a bit before opening...........all working now, but convertible light open is on when the roof is closed as I missed the right adjustment on the micro switch on one side as the bolts were lose upon inspection and I moved it to equal the position on the other side.......hopefully it will go off as it has done in the past)) Don't want to take everything apart again since the roof actually works perfectly!! But I know if it doesn't turn off by itself, I'll be in there again!!

I just did the driver’s side on mine a few weeks ago when I did the door strap.

It wasn’t convenient, but I would guess it only took me 20 mins once the door panel was off.

I bought my 993 and am on my way home.
Two days, about 900 miles back to eastern WA.

I flew into the SF Bay Area and purchased the car from a nice guy who had simply moved on to Ferrari’s. A 430 Scuderia and a 488 - Really nice cars, both.

But I’m happy to acquire my first 993 (first air-cooled actually).
It’s a ‘95, Guards Red, C2, 45K miles.

Mt. Shasta in Northern California in the background.

Lol $1600. Are they charging surgeon rates now? Doing both sides is a 2 hour job, tops. Having done it before, I could probably now do both sides in an hour.

^^this. I think the pieces are around $40. Maybe 3-4 hours if you've never done it before.

Another great '95 C2. Basket handles are the best!
