What did you do with your 993 today
#1576
I’m teaching my 15 year old daughter to drive almost exclusively in a Subaru STI, but the 993 with its loud exhaust and light weight flywheel has intimidated her. Despite her protests we went for a drive last week. After starting in a parking lot she graduated quickly to a quiet, curvy backroad. The highlight was when I told her to show me 45mph in second gear. She tentatively eased into the throttle and as the revs built, started to smile in spite of herself. After slowing she asked me excitedly, “Can we do that again?”
so we did
so we did

Removed the OEM Parcel Shelf and Quarters and installed the remainder Perlon Carpet, although, I'm not entirely sure I prefer it..!
What I'd rally like, is some lightweight panels covered in the perlon that have more of the shape/curves of the OEM panels.. If I can't find any, I think I might go about trying to make my own..

Had the car detailed (to ensure proper paintmatch). Swapped out the OEM motorized spoiler decklid with another decklid with the fixed euro RS wing (OEM) mounted to it. Next, going to the body shop for pairing it up with a new turbo front bumper (thanks Gert!) and paint matching.

PSS10
Got around to PSS10 install. MPruden's DIY was fantastic!
Original BOGE suspension.
Found the new work bench from HF perfect for working on the shocks (don't have a decent vice at home).
Getting ready for alignment and corner balance, with good company.
Staying close to ROW (about 1" drop from stock), set to minimum drop on the Bilsteins.
First ride last night was wonderful, such a difference from OEM, not harsh at all on 4/4 settings. Will probably go with 5/6. Should have done it three years ago when I bought it. Makes driving a whole new experience on the twisties.
As I'm writing this post, shop calls me - says toe arms in back have play in carrier side bushing/link, $$$!
Should be ready by Wednesday.

Thanks for confirmation, same thing the shop guy told me. I don't have much experience with suspension, should have know the looseness of the ball joint means replacement! I hate paying the shop to install an easy DIY. But seeing all the porsches in the parking lot gives me some confidence they know what they're doing.

I had my 993 serviced by Marco at TLG. Not many miles driven since last years rennsport reunion but got an oil change, air conditioning service, new 5mm wheel spacers, and steering rack bushings. Very pleasantly surprised at the bill - less than $800!☺

Elephant Racing seem to do some great [and popular] kit..
At the moment, the only changes i have made have been Bilstein shocks and Rubbers..
