Ooohhhh, aaaahhhhh. Almost as impressive as the revs to 6K upon start-up.
Was he getting ready to "launch into a turn"?

In fairness to the OP he only wanted to know if a 911 could do a burn out.
But in defense to all of us clowns (with too much free time on our hands this weekend) who commented on the topic, we just had to expose the fact that the OP still has alot to learn..
Burn outs. lol... reminds me of being 17![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)

Hmm..."alot to learn"? I think not. Expose this - doing a burnout is no more immature than getting the perfect ride height, having the coolest wheels, reversing your wiper swing, getting the right sound from your cans or deleting your bumperettes and then listing all this crap on your avatar. It's all useless except that it makes some people happy. If burnouts make him happy I say smoke em until they fall off. I still do at 54 with my Dodge truck and I'd do it with my 993 if it was any good at it. Some of you 993 guys are almost as boring as single malt Scotch snobs.
Mmm... Single Malt.

Turned into a veritable Duck Dynasty fest.
I agree with JM 993 - Nomination for the most idiotic thread of the year.
And as far as OP - he obviously knows everything; nothing more to say.

Then, you negated your opinion on anything with the scotch comment. A great 14yo Balvenie rum cask single malt is anything but boring.

It's not that stupid a question. I have a friend who loves to tire-spin his raptor when pulling away from a stop next to me. I just think he's being a noisy bugger and have no interest in matching him. However, although I have no desire or intention to do it, I have often wondered if it is possible to tire-spin the 993.
This thread is actually quite useful, because it shows that while it may be possible under certain circumstances, the car is made to AVOID loss of traction, and to force it to burn out can damage it - so don't bother even trying to do it.

Just discovered these quotes from Ferdinand. I guess burn outs are the intended purpose:

BTW, I've been on the board since 2002 and, although the technical content of the forum has changed over the years, I firmly believe that it was just as no-nonsense/dicky/****** then as it is now. Who here remembers all of the members/users who have been vilified over street racing? Or triple digit street speeds? Or oversaturating Porsches with Photoshop? Or having the user name Old Guy?
