Default Can a 911 do a burnout?

Like the title says, can 911s do burnouts? I'm talking actual burnouts. Rear wheels spinning, smoking tires, but the car is stationary. I've looked for videos but every "burnout" video is donuts or power slides. I'm thinking it should be possible but I'm not sure how the engine over the resr would effect things.

Because it's quite fun. One of many ways a car can put a smile on your face.

I would avoid this on cars with the standard differential such as the Carreras as my take is that when the wheels slip under the huge forces involved it jackhammers the differential. This results in gouged metal fragments from the diffs ring gear to show up at the drain plug. I have also seen a Turbo Tranny opened up where one of the major splined shafts is actually twisted like the red lines on a candy cain from engine torque, not too pretty to look at!

I was wondering if it was something like that. Coming from an s2000, they have glass diffs as well. That being said, it's not usually the spinning tires that kills diffs so much as catching traction.

like a brake stand?
Need a muscle car for that, my old '73 big block camero with no weight in the back was great for that. Not the 911, too much traction.
Not even with my higher hp 2wd turbo, wouldn't attempt it. Now, getting wheel spin going on boost in 3rd or 4th gear, in triple digit speeds, it can do.

And that is very much the case with 'wheeling'/rock crawling in the rocky backwoods. Spinning is okay (although not ideal) but if it starts hoping you need to stop or risk breaking an axle, etc.

Certainly don't need a muscle car for it, although they are very efficient. We burned off a brand new set of direzza dz102s with my 91 bmw 318is which had a messily 113 horsepower 23 years ago. I figure 911s have to be able to do it. 265s aren't THAT big that you can't get them going.

I you really want to try a burnout in a 911, just try this ... wash you car with soapy water and ensure that the rear wheels are soaked.
After finishing the car wash, accelerate hard and you will get wheelspin ... watch out when the rear tires get grip ... ask me how I know

Maybe in a rental that I paid the rental companies catch all insurance. If I'm going to throw money away at my car, it's gonna be to make it better, faster or stronger. Not to buy parts to repair my stupidity.

Lol fairly closed minded to think you can't have fun with a fun car. Come on guys, what's life without a flashy burnout once in a while?
