The burnout attempts, are always so much more impressive, when they are spectated.

To the OP: can a 911 do a burnout? Never tried with mine as I fear the consequences of all that traction when everything hooks up. But if you have one feel free to try.

Other than tires, spinning wheels don't hurt anything. It's the hookup that hurts.

This is like attempting to engage in tractor pulls with your s2000.

completely wrong car for the purpose.

Your 993 has fairly wide tires, heavy weight over the rear, and not terribly much power. Its really not a good choice for burnouts.

Putting someone down for asking a simple question? Yes, mature is the first thing that comes to mind.

Duhhhh, he can take it up 6700 RPM, point it in a safe direction and drop the clutch.

I accept no responsibility for those actions though.

Don't forget to wear that baseball cap though...and backwards.

Or, another way to look at it--until someone else is paying for my tires (mechanical abuse notwithstanding), I'm doing everything to maximize their life within their intended purpose. If I ever felt otherwise I suppose I'd take those extra bucks I'd literally be lighting up and donate to a one of my customers who run an animal shelter, suicide hotline, food bank, etc.

Hey Juntsky couple suggestions if I may 1) no without flame suit in this forum 2) do not take responses personally here just look at it in a third person point of view and you will chuckle at some of the response and others will educate .

No judgement here because I have too much to be judge from .

Cheers Guy

While that's a very noble view, I already donate to shelters, give food and participate in fundraisers to feel bad about roasting a set of crap Chinese tires. I wouldnt waste quality rubber unless there was a decent reason for it.

Juha, while I love seeing a gt3 being used for fun, that's not a burnout. But good for you for being able to take a "serious, purpose built car" and use it for a bit of fun.

I don't take it personally. I was just rather disappointed by the lack of wit. I had read a number of posts before posting here where there were actually witty remarks which was a nice change of pace over the rather dimwit responses you get in the s2000 crowd now that they're cheap enough for kids to get them.

People can judge me all they want but the fact is I'm 23, own my own business, can afford to buy my dream car and use it in any way I choose and was curious to the matter as I had never seen it done.

Man, there are quite a few Richards on this forum.

Op, I can tell you I like to spin my tires on launch, but it's not easy without performing a high rev clutch dump, which makes me nervous.

I always try to get a little slide when launching in a turn.

The photos of my GT3 were from the skidpad at Moroso. My friend organises drifting races and this was one of their practise events. I put on some old street tires i bought for 100 bucks and it was good fun playing and learning at the same time. I can recommend this to everyone interested in honing their car control skills. Definitely not time wasted and as long as you so it correctly, it is not bad for the car either.

Who knows, maybe there's a burnout forum for you two. With no "Richards"...
