Nice paint work Gmorat! The paint from Touch Up Direct looks like it matches perfectly.

Let us know how the install goes with the T-LED lights from Tore. Great product! I just ordered another set for my C4, together with the T Lights.

Cheers!

I have the T-Lights installed already. Had them about 2 years. Wish I had them driving across the country when I bought the car originally as the stock lights are a joke and driving into the evenings was mostly terrifying. What I'm waiting for is a LED kit for all the other exterior lights as the normal bulbs are dull as all Hell.

I gave up on Touch-up-Direct and had it all painted professionally. Got some old damage on the front and side of the bumper cover fixed while I was at it.

What can I say, Polar silver you rock but you suck? Love the color but its hard to get a match. I didn't even want to attempt to blend it.

Thanks for your article and to Lb for the bumperette delete help.

Now, if I could just think of a more elegant solution for the wiring.......

The 2 spade connectors on the ends of the wires just go into the female connector of the fog lights wiring BUT....

1. I've wrapped everything in a plastic bag to keep it dry.
2. I've sealed around the connection between the new hellas and the old connector with electrical tape after poking a whole in the plastic to feed it through.

It just means theres no quick connect or disconnect. I have to undo electrical tape to remove the duct. If I knew what the male side of the connector was I could buy a couple of loose ones and modify.

Any ideas?

Thks

The scoops are aftermarket from 911ShopUK for just $112 - or you can pay $160 and they come as a package with the Hella lights. Less than half the cost of the OEM, and the 16 LED bulbs are even brighter!

Cheers!
The more cost effective way to go is to order the ducts for $112, and buy the Hella position lights in the US. Here's a link to them, for about $10 bux ea., as opposed to the 22 GBP.

Just wanted to provide an updated link for these Turbo S Scoops a/k/a Brake Cooling Ducts. Hopefully 'Type 911' will maintain this link on their website. The price is 100 GBP for the ducts and lights (just $152 a today's conversion rate). http://type911shop.co.uk/shop/articl...6aid%3D3521%26

Or better still, as nine9Six suggests below, buy just the brake ducts for 70 GBP (about $105 at today's conversion rate) http://type911shop.co.uk/shop/articl...6aid%3D5309%26, and buy the Hela position lamps right here in the US through ECS Tuning for just $10.00 per light. That's a savings of about $25 exclusive of shipping.

Thanks PRSWILL, but full disclosure I'm no pro as evidenced by the paint job I just botched on the latest set for my black C4 right now (L-741 black). The paint went on fine, but the clear coat... not so much. Soda pop and runs on one of the scoops. Not ideal working conditions in the garage - and too much humidity perhaps. But clear-coating in the house last time around didn't go over too well with the Mrs. So I sanded it down and I'm now starting over from scratch on that one. I'm stubborn and enjoy tackling these projects on my own - but your local paint guy may also be a good way to go.

Cheers!

Primer and Paint went on fine

Clear-coat not so much. Runs and soda pop

Time to start over again

Jim,

I don't know what you are using for clear, but it does not like the cold. 65 degrees or warmer is best.

Thumbs up

So I placed my order for these today. How many people are actually connecting the vents to the brakes?? I've seen a couple of posts on this- just curious if I should embark on that part of this mod as well.. Sounds like the kits now come with the wiring harness and LEDs!

By wiring harness, all it is is 6 inches of white wire with crimped connectors on the end. Of which I had to replace because they were too small for the light end tabs. Poor excuse for a harness. I expected a connector.
