OT: Ages of 993 owners

I am 56 and wanted a Porsche since I drove my college roommate's 356. I made do nicely at the time with a brand new '67 Beetle. I owned a lot of sports cars, mostly British, before I bought my first Porsche when I was 43. What a pleasure not to have to sync carbs or adjust valves any more. The last car I owned before my first Porsche was a 1970 6.3 Mercedes, in which I wrung out all the HP/torque obsession before finding performance religion. I am probably driving the last Porsche I will ever own.

Just turned 34, mind still thinks I'm under 30, body is starting to let me know what all those Motocross injuries eventually do to you, still will get some air again though, I ain't stopping that! (that's what my "less than 30 years" 'old' brains keep telling me).
Got my first 911 when I was 29, 993 when I was 32.
Like someone said, it's the miles & how they've been driven...
I'm never gonna feel that young again but I'm glad I got to do all those things what I've done.

I'm 46 for at least a couple of more weeks, but am sure that it must be a clerical error. I can not possibly be older than 29, no matter what anyone else says. That is my story and I am sticking to it!
In any event, I got my P-car in Feb of 2002 and had driven BMWs since 1984.

31. First P-car, a 964, at 28. I have a framed, hand-drawn-and-colored picture of a 924 Turbo dated 2/5/83 hanging on my wall. I drew it when I was 11 (and no, its not very good). At least my taste in models has gotten better...!

I'm 32 now. I bought my 993 when I was 29, and I got my 1981 911SC when I was 27. I will always be proud of the fact that I bought and owned two Guards Red 911's BEFORE I was 30 years old. Talk about making dreams reality!!!
I think I'm still dreaming!

I just had another thought.
I don't know where the law of averages comes in on this, but I really don't see where the average Porsche or 911 owner is a 50-something year old male. I see the dominance of males on this board, but it sure seems like the majority of guys who have responded are in their 30's and 40's. (not that there's anything wrong with a 50 year old owning one )
Anyway, I am just really surprised that most of us are in our 30's and 40's. I kinda thought I was in a small group on this board, glad to know I got other 32 year old guys on here as crazy as me!! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

By the time we approach 50, and I am getting very close, we give up silly cars like the Porsche and move to more mundane vehicles. I sold my TT last year and replaced it with a low HP convertable for sunday drives.

I'm 33 today. Bought my first PCar ('97 C4S) when I was 29. Had already owned 328is, Mazda RX7('93 - twin turbo), and others not worth note.
I grew up with PCars in the family - My dad had a '74 914 bought new and sold for more than he bought it after 10 years. When he sold the 914 he got an '85 911 which he had until '95. I'm working on getting him to buy a 993 or at least something PCar so we can do track events together.
