53, getting younger everyday!! Bought my first 911 (1966) in 1967 when I was 18. AND NO, not because of rich parents. I worked 40 hours a week while going to school. Every penny went towards paying for the car, insurance and speeding tickets! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I got myself into a really sweet deal in high school selling corvettes for a wholesaler. My senior year, I had atleast one vette to drive to school at any one time. It usually took 2-4 weeks to sell one, and I got to drive them in the mean time. I got my first 911 (an '88) towards the end of that year, but didn't think it too smart to take it to FSU, so I owned it less than a year. Man was I the fish out of water at PCA meetings; at 18 years old. I bought a '90 range rover w/ super high miles for cheap from an auction, and drove it in college--one of the most dependable, enjoyable cars ever, if you know how to work on them. I was really hooked on the 911, and swapped for another '88 my junior year. About a year after that, rennlist got going, and I made friends with a rennlister in St. Louis who had an immaculate '95 blk/blk w/ a lot of rs pieces. We struck a deal, and I've been enjoying the car for almost 3 years now; that would put me at about 22 at the time. It was all kind of storybook really, the way it's all worked out. I sold all my stocks (from high school car sale proceeds) to buy the car, and soon after the market crashed--in my case the car was a great financial decision!
It would be nice to see some younger people at club meetings and DE's, but its understandable that they're not. The car means a lot to me, since I did it all on my own, and its a struggle to buy parts at times, but I'm really glad that I've been able to do this stuff earlier on in life (even if I am, indeed, the king of Ramen and pbj). I only wish I had started DE with the older cars, but that really wasn't an option. My goal is to do as many DE's as I can, and be an instructor by the time I finish dental school, and then club/scca race. The value of this community is pretty huge, as I can tell you it was a bear to gather info on how to fix the "88's; that and I don't think I could have gotten such a good car otherwise.

One of my favorite life questions is "If you didn't know your actual age, how old do you think you would be?"
Interesting, huh.
In actual age, I'm older than Ray Calvo (It's possible).
In my mind I think I'm somewhere between Greg Fishman and Phil McG.
although, it would be nice to be as young as Princeton.
I bought my first sports car 30 years ago ( a clapped out '62 Alfa Guila spider), my firstPcar 16 years ago (a new 951), my dream car six years ago (the Queen) and have owned three others since then.
It's a serious weakness. It gets worse with age.

I am 32 and bought my car first P-car last year at 31. I converted from a Lexus IS 300. I liked that car but it had no personality. I tried to make one car do two things, daily driver and sports car. It did both OK but neither well, so I bought a cheap 2000 Intrepid to drive to and from work, then splurged on a purposeful sports car. I don't think I will ever go back to only one car.

Had my first p-car at age 18. That was twenty years ago. OUCH! This is my ninth car. I have been lucky enough to sponcer PCA events, assist in DE's and a P-car Parade, and basically enjoy the marque. Life is good!!!!!

34 I bought my first P-car when I was 31. However, my love affair with them started when I was 11. Interesting I my first Porsche was a Boxster. After driving it for a year of which 6 months months I could not keep my mind off a 993 I gave in to the temptation.
