Yep, how it's done. Lot of money spent there. (Or, wondering how much was comp'd.)
Intrigued by the finding of a broken stud + ring land.
But I've gotta take exception to "track monster." I put the difference between the 3.8 I've got, and a stock engine, at 1-1.5 sec/lap at Thunderhill.

Really love if there were something a bit more than the superficial on the thing. We know what a 3.8 is/isn't. Coupled with the failures present and soon-to-be, what exactly was replaced--studs, rods (or fasteners), oil pump, crank, head work, etc etc etc.--your front line shop isn't going to cut corners.

Unless you were building for a race class where money is on the line. And from what I saw at Sears over the weekend in World Challenge, there can't be a more upside-down proposition in racing than bang for the buck in 2nd/3rd tier pro road racing......

Great video, definitely skipped a few steps that may of been interesting - like joining the case halves...
Maybe Ken will chime in here - I have seen builds both with the heads/cam carrier pre-assembled and then installed, or the heads installed individually and then the cam carrier installed on top - any preferred method? I like doing the heads individually and then worry about the cam carrier, but i suppose if everything is in good shape it may no matter which way (i.e. good if the camshafts rotate with no binding and the heads are flat to each other).... and am always willing to learn. Opinions?
Cheers,
Mike
