Default Oil cooler fan overide switch selection

Here is a good thread about various switches that work in the center console.

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-override.html

I'm liking randytrish's choice the black one that fits with no modification and then search for a 'fan' sticker or someone suggested taking the switch to a nail salon and a picture of fan decal and having them paint it on. They pointed out that they are good at doing small designs. I won't call out who knew so much about nail polish

My second choice is the more popular 944 hazard switch that lights up. Anybody ever find that annoying - like a night or anything? Or do you just love the light and glad you have it? tia for any opinions...

JB,
i liked the 944 hazard switch. no modifications required. its nice to have the light come on when the switch is in the on position. easy to wire up. kind of a rip off when i bought it new from sunset but the used ones online didnt look too nice.

at night its not too bright, it doesn't blink or anything so its not distracting. its pretty dim.

Default fan override

Since all my center console switch positions were occupied, I went with a rocker switch in the left area near the key ignition. The small plate on the switch left little room for error, so I took my time cutting the hole very slowly.

The 944 switch is great. Great reminder that the fan is on. The light is very subdued and not distracting.

Thanks for the responses guys. Based on those replys I think I'll go with the 944 switch that lights up. Anybody have one they decided to not do the diy shoot me a pm or else it's sunset...

PS nels, that's a really clean install, nice work. I'm so glad I have an empty spot on my center console. Arh, the blessings of a low optioned C2

I put my switch under the dash out of sight below the steering column. Just stuck it with double sided tape to a flat surface within reach, just under and behind the lower dash. No cutting, no removing dash panels, no obviously aftermarket switches in view. This made my switch install take about 10 minutes start to finish (you don't have to remove the ccu to get to the wire needed. Just look under the dash and u can see the wiring.) Simple, easy, unobtrusive.

JB, I got my 944 red hazard switch from partsheaven.com. I got an email response with pictures within a couple hours and the price was about 1/4 of what pelican wanted. Its "used" but looks absolutely fine by my eye. Good luck.

Thanks phoneyman. They had one for me too and he emailed couple of pics of it within the hour. $20+$12 shipping.

edit: I installed the lighted hazard switch and agree with others the light is not annoying at all and provides a good reminder that the fan is on.
