Werks is now sold out.
Currently on werksReunion.com:
"THE 2014 WERKS REUNION IS SOLD OUT TO CONCOURS AND CORRAL CARS.
Spectators are still welcome and free to attend. Just park at the church next door for a $10 donation and join the fun!"
The registration site's presently accepting applications to the waitlist in case others cancel.
So far, looks like a reunion for ~seven 993s registered for the Concours, & ~20 for the Corral. Many familiar names
A 993 GT2 & Turbo S are scheduled, plus a Singer 964 & other rarities.

FWIW: apparently not the 1st ever, but the 1st factory-designated 911.

After building a small number of pre-production 901 automobiles, chassis #300049, built in October 1964, was the first vehicle officially designated "911" by the Porsche factory and was specifically built for Dr. Ferry Porsche. Special features included unique "black-charcoal" metallic paint, electric sunroof and a leather interior.
Subsequently sold to a German doctor, it eventually found its way to S. Africa, then to the USA and in 1996 was purchased in Michigan by Jerry Seinfeld. Soon after, it was shipped to Porsche AG in Zuffenhausen, where it underwent a nearly two year restoration and then debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours in August of 1998.
1966 356 SC Cabriolet Dutch Police Car
Although 356 production ended in June of 1965, Porsche built a special run of 10 356 SC Cabriolets in June 1966 specifically for the Dutch Police and this vehicle, chassis #162175, is the last of those ten, making it the very last 356 ever built!
After many years of special autobahn usage by the Dutch police force, this automobile was sold to a Dutch citizen and eventually restored in Switzerland in the mid-90's. In 1999 it returned to Holland and subsequently arrived in the USA in 2000 becoming part of the Seinfeld Collection.

Burning Brakes
Looks like I am heading up after work Thursday. I have a couch to crash on in Carmel Thursday and Friday nights. I am thinking of doing the Hahn winery tour with the Pelican guys Friday morning, but skipping lunch and heading back before it gets TOO hot out East. Hit the Works Reunion afterwards to see all the Porsche goodness and then probably head into downtown Carmel to get some drinks and drool on cars that are typically never seen in daylight.
I would be up for a Baja Cantina meet on Friday, but don't want to drive into Monterey. It' typically fairly crowded until late on Friday at B.C., but there are always cool cars pulling in/out. I hung out with some Morgan Club members there one night and it was awesome.

Peter, I can attest to the fact that it's not too crowded at the pub in Monterey that I mentioned, at least at 5-6ish. Paid parking lot always has allowed me parking at the restaurant where I can keep eyes on the car. Baja is always a matter of timing, but a good place none the less.

I will be at the Tesla test drive on Friday morning and the Works Reunion on Friday afternoon ... Saturday and Sunday at the Pebble Beach Concours

Got the car's alignment "tuned up" at Mirage today-looking forward to a quick roadtrip now. Look for the Midnight Blue 95 in the corral with the bugs and road dirt on her. I imagine I'll be thirstier more than I'll be motivated to find somewhere to wash her when I arrive Thurs evening, so Baja Cantina is probably the first stop.

Looks like I'll head down early Fri AM, then halfway back to pick up Karen at Caltrain somewhere between San Jose and Gilroy (hotel TBD, still....). Head back down Sat for running around town. Or rather biking--won't be hard to spot mine in the corral.

Ken: my daughter and I will also be driving down (from west marin) early Fri AM. How will you be going down there and what time will you be leaving?

5ish, from Oakland down 880/101/156/1. Leaving enough time for a pit stop around 6-630 if one of my employees needs some 'splainin about his unusual Friday with me not being around.

Speaking of 'splainin, I just sent out emails to my mega-customers telling them I'm "taking Friday off", but that they can call me any time, and I'll be checking email regularly. And to think I refused to use a pager back in the day....

I was not sure if I would be road worthy by this weekend, so I didn't register before it filled up. I plan on making it but will parking in the bleacher seats (the adj. church p-lot). Hope it's paved. Don't feel like washing off an inch of dust.
