Got my winter shoes on. LETS ROCK!
I put on my winter shoes last week. I haven’t used them since 2008. I’ve got one more season left in the rears. Unfortunately there aren’t many options for OEM sized winter tires for the 993 anymore. I have been running Blizzaks and they are awesome in the cold as well as sure footed in the snow. For those of you who park their cars in the winter, you are missing out. These cars just love the cool dense air of the fall and winter. The car seems to be noticeably quicker. I try not to take a road trip when there is snow in the forecast but if it does snow I’m ready for it.

We had flurries yesterday. It is coming your way soon! I've been in a 997 C2 in the snow and it is a blast, and actually quite good until the snow gets too deep. I know I am missing fun in the 4S with it parked over winter....enjoy!

I can't justify set of winter tires (lack of snow, lack of storage, lack of heated seats ... etc). I would love to take this car on packed snow on proper tires.

Yeah, got the full snows on now (separate set on 18" twists), I like the traction when it gets colder, the high performance summer tires really do not like it cold. I won't drive the car in the snow, but we hardly get any in Vancouver, so the 993 is really a all-season car here.

+1, The Porsche 911 (all variants) is really the sports car for all seasons.
I also have the Blizzaks and love them. I have them mounted on my Kenesis rims and think the car looks fabulous with her winter boots on! I have to agree I do enjoy the cold air effect, and I miss the heated seats in the morning.

The coupe had winter sneakers installed last month when prepping for an ATL - Vail - ATL run. It never snowed although the morning temps were well into the 30s where summer tires (PS2s) wouldn't do. The round trip alone is 3,000 miles not to mention the daily miles running the Vail - DEN - Vail while in state. Anyway,,,, plenty of cold weather miles on a new set of Falken Eurowinter 449 snow tires.

This was the first time not buying the blue ribbon standard of snow tires the Dunlup SP winter sport M2s or are they up to M3s ..

Our daily drivers are needing new snow sneakers and the high performance of these HS 449 and modest cost (value) are making me re-think the automatic Dunlop, Michelin and Gislaved selections of the past.
