If you guys don't mind an out-of-state interloper returning for more fun, it looks good so far.
I look forward to seeing familiar friends, meeting new ones, & admiring your beautiful 993s!
Should be the 3rd year out of 4 my red rattle-trap's been 'imported' for Legends.
Birthday boy ^^ After years of us talking about rendezvousing during Monterey Car Week, I'm glad you can make it for any amount of time
Always great to have another Speedster there Plus, you get 'credit' for visiting Carmel family, too - perfect!
(Wishing all the best for your ailing parent; I know you do a lot for her - your devotion's inspiring.)
Say hi to Colin, & check for e-mail sent Sunday with a couple of Speedster b-day gifts.
Carmel/Monterey/Speedster-related, from your "Legends of the Autobahn chatter" thread:
I'll be at the Legends of the Autobahn this August 16th during Monterey Car Week, I missed it all last year so I'm really looking forward to it:
They've moved it to the Pasadera Country Club this year, so it should be awesome.
I'm nervous about being judged .. I suspect the concourse police will have a hairball trying to decide what to do with me .... glad it's only 'show n shine'..
Jon Paul-- Don't fret ^^ Legends' concours police have hairballed on my 'Speedy' for years
SpeedArena will be gorgeous & draw crowds of admirers as always!
Plenty of 993 Speedster parking, & folks eager to see TWO red 993 Speedsters, per previous RL threads (combined below):
I just got back from "Legends of the Autobahn".
Great turnout... twice the size of last year and TWO red 993 Speedsters!
Jeff-- TWO?
one on AutoBlog.com's "2011 Legends of the Autobahn Photos." Many more photos there.
I know, right? Wasn't me (obviously) ...
I couldn't wait to see the second one ...
Maybe your car is so stunning, Jeff thought he saw two?
Would have been twice as nice to see you! You were missed
Speaking of red Speedsters, a friend at last year's Legends made good on his promise to have his 356 in this year's show. I luv 356 curves!
^^ Photography courtesy of Masaru M.
^^^ Very nice shot and interesting to be able to compare the size of the two cars side by side. Really not much difference in the overall envelopes .. and the windscreens are very close in size
Our Speedsters are the perfect combination of 356 + 993, IMHO.
I value experiences more when shared with others; long wait -- thrilled to now have a fellow U.S. RLer enjoying the same road
Just the chance to meet you & your [993] were a big draw for me to get to your area. Next time!
Hope we meet up later.
I'm anticipating there will be plenty of opportunity and excuses to bring the two wide-hipped Tuetonic warts together .. :-) They will make quite a pair

And that goes for anybody who's coming to Legends on Friday, if your near my car, yell out 'JP' and flag me down, I'll be wearing an orange Nike cap .. I'm sure I'll be so paranoid about leaving the Speedster sitting in an open field with a bunch of strangers that I'll be acting VERY odd ...
We'll look for you....

Hi
An Australian fiend is racing at the Monterey Classic this year in his 356 number 23.
He is also racing in the pre classic race as well.
So there will be some Aussie competition there this year.
This car was a complete rebuild and I did the wiring.
No, I am not going as I just got back from a 6 week stint in Europe.
So if your there you should have a look,
I am sure he will have posters or flags with boxing kangaroo's on them, so you won't miss the team.
Sounds like it will be a great event.

Hi Ed,
Rusty French is a part owner of Ford Performance Racing in Australia.
This is one of the front running teams in our V8 Supercar series and of course a Ford team
Rusty takes motor racing very seriously.

Neil-- Will keep an eye out for Rusty's boxing kangaroos!
Ed-- You'll be missed in Monterey, but so glad to meet you last weekend
Maz-- My 993, 'Speedy,' was selected for McCall's Motorworks Revival. I'm pinching myself
I doubt you'll bring Luca but if so, RLers may recognize you guys by father & son's laughter
