Legends of the Autobahn
I just got back from "Legends of the Autobahn" in Carmel.
Great turnout...maybe twice the size of last years event.
Great cars from great distances and TWO red 993 Speedsters!
Oh, BTW, there were some BMWs and Benzs there too.

Great pics!
Will be more coverage of the Blue Turquoise Turbo S (owned by a RLer) & the yellow rocket (previously owned by RLer Atan888): PCA staff shot interview videos with them.
Jeff-- TWO?
Here's the one on AutoBlog.com's "2011 Legends of the Autobahn Photos." Many more photos there.

Jeff-- Stunning avatar! Bring your 993 to Legends? Any pics to share?
Speaking of red Speedsters, a friend made at last year's Legends made good on his promise to have his 356 in this year's show. He's planning to send shots of our cars together. Should be good - I luv 356 curves!
Eric-- Great seeing you at Laguna yesterday. My RLer friend with the 964 Turbo 3.6 we gushed about said you later helped him park -- good on ya! Glad you two got to meet. He's awesome.
Would have been twice as nice to see you! You were missed; I'm sure your business trip will go well

I have alot of photos to post, but I shot them at 6 Megapixels.
I know how to post lower res photos, but these are to big for Rennlist.
Any simple way to convert and post????
And yes, my 993 was there...............

yellow rocket (previously owned by RLer Atan888):
I didn't know it had changed hands! I never saw an ad or heard anything. When did it sell and who bought it???

^^ Bros-- Atan888 gave me a test flight in his rocket about a year ago.
I met Big Bird's new owner Fri. I think I have some info, but can't confirm I have the real story. I'll share some conjecture here, but first want to give an opportunity to anyone who knows they have the facts behind Atan's sale.

Jeff-- Can't wait to see more of your Cab
Regarding photo-sharing ... I'm but a mere caveman, but maybe I can help by speaking to what I'm familiar with - imageShack.us. I find it a no-brainer with larger pics, since it reduces their size to be web-friendly. All you do is select the dimensions you want (~5 standard proportions to choose from).
Related, from "Photo hosting site of choice" thread:
Usual problem is that you can't share higher res stuff
It's because of Rennlist that I was forced to learn about this subject.
The RL photo server I used was always low-res, & the photos small. That always struck me as unfortunate. For convenience's sake, I used RL anyway. Then my pictures starting disappearing from their server & being a real hassle in other ways. I think I reached the limit in # of pix, but their webpages didn't behave logically when I tried to rectify. By necessity, I researched options on other sites.
(Unfortunate, especially for a site I pay $ to be a member on.)
When I saw Allill's delicious & high-resolution photos in his WIDEBODY 993 S CAB thread, I looked into what he uses: imageshack.us.
I was surprised to find you don't even need to create an account with them. They host virtually anything, even large files. All you need to do is save the hyperlink. Easy!
Now I have some photos on my own 993 Speedster thread that I sometimes wonder if a few are too large / hi-res.
The bottom shot's the low-res version of Butzi (F.A. Porsche)'s family 993 Speedster. I felt guilty about posting the original high-res file. Nice to have that option.

^^ Can't be too safe. I have some symptoms of mental insanity & unsafe obsession but I don't think I can blame it on any website ... just on the beautiful coachwork of 993s!
Unfortunately, it's contagious: Received this just last night from a new friend I met last week! Feeding the sickness
For anyone else who likes 356s + 911 Speedsters: big event at last month's 356 Club Concours in Dana Point, CA...
high-level teamwork put together the world's first line-up representing all Porsche Speedsters: 356, '89, 964, 993, & 997. Any pics of this heritage display appreciated!

^^^ Very nice shot and interesting to be able to compare the size of the two cars side by side. Really not much difference in the overall envelopes .. and the windscreen's are very close in size which I'm still completely infatuated with from inside the cockpit when I get swept back to 1971 while driving at night with the top down ....;-)

[Tell me what he says ... I keep getting distracted by the red 993 in the background ]
I arrived to Legends late, but while there, PCA's President &/or his Executive Director were standing next to Big Bird 90% of the time. They were in love.
A gentleman named Alvin helps Anthony with the 993. He's quick to point out he's not that Alvin (ironically the same name of RLer Atan888).
He's the one that goes to Speedy to grab a magazine during this vid. He was excited to see the same car he'd read about in Excellence parked next to Big Bird, & happy I brought a copy of that issue.
I can't say enough good about meeting Alvin, Anthony, & their ladies -- generous & fun enthusiasts to be around. I got the impression Big Bird's in the hands of appreciative enthusiasts.
