Very cool....Reminiscent of the concept of "motoring" so popular in the early days of the automobile....

Love it! Way to use that car.

Not exactly camping but I slept in the driver seat of mine a couple of weeks ago, I'd say it was one of the most uncomfortable nights of my life. I got to drive it right before I went to sleep and right after I woke up though so I'd say that made up for it.

I drove the 993 from Stuttgart to LeMans loaded with two tents, two sets of bedding, and all other necessary gear. We camped with the Porsche Club Great Britain folks and had a great time.

That looks like fun Avenger! Can I ask why the car has the US bumperettes?

It is a US-Spec car that I had over there when I was working in Stuttgart, and it is now back here.

And it HAD US Bumperettes..... I have since changed it to a Euro bumper cover.

Saw this thread while looking for something else. We have camped and taken our '86 Targa up Washington states highest maintained road, all gravel to Slate Peak.
Came up with the below for autocross with our RSA. We use our never to be 'fixed' diesel for endurance rally and two week plus off-road trips.
Below is a link to our build and some of what we do:

^ Wow, you did the Alcan winter rally. I did the Alcan summer rally back in the day. That was enough for me.
It was 10-12 hours a day of driving for 2 weeks. I re-call one day off. Winter must be insane.
